A check Monday of Placer County court records indicates no restraining order has been sought against Sacramento Kings basketball star Ron Artest by his wife.
The two allegedly fought at their Loomis home March 15, and Artest was arrested by sheriff's deputies on charges of domestic violence and preventing a person from using a phone to make an emergency call.
Sheriff's officials have not identified the woman in the dispute, citing confidentiality rights of a victim in a domestic violence incident.
A neighbor identified Artest's wife, Kimsha, as the victim, and Artest issued a public apology to his wife on Saturday.
After Artest was taken for booking at the Placer County jail on March 5, the victim was given an emergency protective order by the Sheriff's Department, which meant Artest could not return home or have any contact with the victim for at least five business days.
The order is intended to give a victim enough time to obtain a restraining order, if the person chooses.
