I seem to remember a story where he recently (past few years) had a child, which was kinda a big deal cause he was already in or near his 80's.

Yeah, the obit said he had a child at age 80. :eek:

Which also means that his current wifre must have been at least 40 years younger than him. :eek:

Among the comments today was one that said he was, for a time, a little bitter about being type-cast after his three years on the original series. Finally, someone told him to quit complaining and consider himself lucky to have had the opportunity to play a character that was still known globally for a series that only lasted three years back in the 60s. He said once he accepted that, he went with the flow and had a very happy life...

Not a bad epitaph.
