Barry Bonds: Major League Narcissist

#1
I’m glad Barry Bonds pulled out of the World Baseball Classic. I did not want a scumbag like him representing my country anyway, and by his pulling out, he once again showed what an arrogant narcissist he is.
He said the reason he is not going to play in the WBC is that he didn’t want to risk an injury that could jeopardize his final season(s) in the league. He also said that if he injured himself, it would hurt the Giants’ chances of winning. That certainly is true, but come on, like Barry really cares that much about the Giants winning. If he cared so much about winning, he would stay on the U.S. roster and try to win a title for his country. If he cared so much about winning, he would not alienate his teammates year after year and make the Giants run around in circles to accommodate him. Barry Bonds is about one person: himself. He cares about his records, and his money, not the well-being of the Giants or the U.S. team.
The real reason Barry isn’t going to play in the WBC is that the WBC has adopted Olympic style steroid testing, which is much more effective and thorough than what the MLB has in place. Think that has something to do with it? Barry Bonds is a failure as an American, father, husband, and human being.

And you're God... I get it.

I don't know anything about baseball or Barry Bonds, but in all fairness he's getting paid by the Giants to play for the Giants. I don't blame him for not wanting to risk getting injured.

i'm kinda glad he pulled out

it's much more important for him to be wearing the orange and black in april then the red white and blue in march. the giants need him much more then team USA does

Arrogant narcissism helps to keep this country strong, so shouldn't someone represent that? I doubt Bonds is the only one of those on the team. No worries.

Bonds is unlikeable. He's a good baseball player. He's never failed a drug test. He probably has used performance enhancers, but I don't buy the media image of steroids as something that would turn anyone into a great baseball player. I don't see why he's any more criticized than people like Giambi ("I've made some mistakes and I'm sorry." "What mistakes?" "Well, you know, I'm going to be a man and admit to these mistakes" etc.), Marion Jones, Palmeiro, etc.
