Bad news for Bonzi good for kings

Hall of Famer
Bonzi has missed to first 2 preseason games with the same nagging injury that had him missing over 30 games for us last season. So It looks like we would have the same team we have now -10 million sitting with injury.

If we did have Bonzi, so what if he misses PRE-SEASON. Its the regular season that counts. Now, if he misses 30 games during the upcoming regular season then that's a different story.

thing is its the same injury. Kinda becoming a trend don't you think. you don't want the same injury that missed all the games last year already showing up before the first preseason game? Not good news for the Rockets with T-mac missing 20 to 30 games a year and Yao missing 10 to 20 a year

On a side note Peja has missed both games willed pull muscle in his quadricep

While the Rockets getting Bonzi gives them a legit 3rd option, it also gives the Rockets another injury concern (T-Mac, maybe Yao (lesser degree though, Bonzi, 1 or 2 others). Having an average and partly young bench doesn't help, in depth.

Rockets are a legit threat and possibly contenders (even if they didn't have Bonzi, still consideration) if they stay healthy and get solid chemistry. That's what I think determines the aforementioned, or a playoff picture team, making it as a 7/8 seed.

Groin injuries are one of those things you don't want to risk. When you play a guy that even has the slightest discomfort in his groin, ESPECIALLY in pre-season, he's gotta sit because it can't so easily be pulled or much worse. Probably thinking it's just better to be safe than sorry.

This is a non-story. The deal is that Bonzi could not play ball over the summer....and in this case that's the WHOLE summer, because he was a FA for so long. When you are on the open market, playing full speed or anything close to it is just stupid -- just ask Willie Green. So because he didn't sign until last week or whatever, he's basically been out for 4 months and is playing himself back into shape. Apparently about ready though.

I know all this because its fantasy season and I've been making it a habit to steal Bonzi in the late rounds of the 20 person league's I prefer after people forget about him. (Ironically in 2 of the 4 I've nabbed he and Kevin back to back as sneaky sleepers.) In any case, makes sense. Free agency ends for most guys of Bonzi's caliber in July. For him it didn't end until October.

He missed the first two games primarily because he had two root canal surgeries. He should be back for the next game.
