I can't believe it! I'm not very into celebrity relationships, but I thought these two were the "forever" type.

Babyface and Tracey Edmonds Announce Separation

The couple vows to continue their business relationship.
Thursday, October 6, 2005

It’s the end of the road for Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and his wife, Tracey. The couple released a statement Wednesday afternoon announcing their permanent separation following 11 years of marriage.

“After being unofficially separated for quite some time, it is with deep regret that we announce our permanent separation,” read the statement, sent by publicist, Raymone Bain. “We remain best friends, and will continue to work together in our companies and our various business ventures.

The couple, who just marked their 11th anniversary last Sept. 5, said they will continue “to provide a loving, caring and stable environment” for their two sons, Brandon and Dylan Michael.

“It is for this reason, that we are requesting that you respect our privacy, and the privacy of our children,” the statement said. Photo Copyright Getty Images

I suppose it would be somewhat callous to say "Who?" and downright mean to say "Who cares?"

I'm sorry but after the tragic split of Jen and Brad, I just can't allow these celebrities to force their personal lives into my daily agenda. It's just too painful when they decide to end it...leaving me with this terrific void in my life.

;)

I have no idea who either of these people are, but there sure have been a lot of celebrity divorces lately, whew. It makes me scared to ever get married. I mean, if these celebrity couples couldn't make it, then what chance do the rest of us have?

;)

It's sad, they always seemed the perfect couple if there is such a thing.
Also Eddie Murphy and his wife Nicole are divorcing and it's very messy from what I hear. They've also been married for many years.

Babyface is a music producer, music writer and singer - very good one at that.

From http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/babyface/bio.jhtml,

In 1995, he scored another major success with the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack, not only producing it but scoring the film itself and writing nearly all of its songs, including the Whitney Houston smash "Exhale (Shoop, Shoop)." The same year, he won the first of three consecutive Grammys as Producer of the Year. Successes just kept coming in 1996; the guest-laden album The Day spawned another Top Ten pop/R&B hit in "Every Time I Close My Eyes," and he solidified his crossover credentials once and for all by winning a Grammy for Record of the Year as producer of Eric Clapton's "Change the World."

Released in 1989, Tender Lover caught fire, spinning off four singles over the next year, including the R&B chart smashes "It's No Crime" (number one) and "Whip Appeal" (number two; both also reached the pop Top Ten); the album also went double platinum. Now firmly established as a powerhouse, Babyface went on to co-write hits for Johnny Gill ("My, My, My," nominated for the Best R&B Song Grammy), Whitney Houston ("I'm Your Baby Tonight"), and Madonna ("Take a Bow"); his biggest success, however, came with Boyz II Men, whose recording of "End of the Road" became one of the longest-running number ones in pop history (the Babyface-penned follow-up "I'll Make Love to You" was also pretty successful in its own right). He was co-nominated for an Album of the Year Grammy for his production on The Bodyguard soundtrack and went on to work with artists like Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, En Vogue, and Mary J. Blige. As if that weren't enough, LaFace had become a highly successful and lucrative imprint, breaking artists like Toni Braxton, TLC, OutKast, and Usher (often with input from Reid and Babyface).

His wife, Tracey Edmonds, was a movie producer.

From same site, her most acclaimed movie was "Soul Food." She also produced "Josie and the Pussycats," "Punks," "Light It Up," and "Hav Plenty."

They were a power couple.... :(

After all the recent hoopla with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, etc. I realized the painful truth: my life had become way too segmented with trying to stay current on all the doing in the private public lifes of celebrities. So, after painful introspection, I've decided to limit myself to living vicariously ONLY though the Sacramento Kings. Those Hollywood and music types are just going to have to find someone else to keep track of their romances, trysts, infidelities, etc. I'm just one person; I can only do so much.

and now they're having a baby:eek: That poor child! That has to got to be one of the weirdest relationships ever.

I'll keep track of it for you, VF21. I have a subscription to People Magazine, so I have access to the train wreck that is Hollywood.

You'll never convince me that the child was conceived through normal means ... and, at this point, it might take a paternity test to prove to me it's his child.

Agreed. I personally think that this child was conceived with one of Tom Cruise's high-ranking Scientology "leaders" or whatever they're called, that he consults with regularly. It was done to show that Tom Cruise is a normal, fully-functioning heterosexual male.

^^I was picturing aliens with turkey basters, but your thoughts could be right, too.
