Since I became an owner, I have from time to time checked RealGM and Hawksquawk to get a sense of the thoughts of our most dedicated fans. In the past several weeks, I have closely read your comments on the Joe Johnson trade and the conflict within our ownership group. I was struck by your passion for the Hawks. It's that passion that we desparately need as we build this young team. Over the past year, several of you have chatted about meeting at a game and I would love to assist in making this possibe. So I've arranged the following:

Between now and September 1st you can purchase lower level tickets to the Hawks game on November 10th vs. the LA Clippers -- for only $10 each! These seats are normally $55! Plus, I will choose two of you that purchase these tickets to sit with me in my floor seats and watch
the Hawks Rise Up and beat the Clippers!

Here is how to take advantage of this special offer. Click on the link below and type in the word owner in the "Enter Special Offer Code or Password" box and order your tickets to this game.

Look forward to meeting you at the game and an exciting season ahead.

Sincerely,
Bruce Levenson

I don't think they'll be horrible with a starting line-up of:

Johnson/Childress/Marvin or Smith or Harrington/Harrington or Marvin/Pachulia...

Then having Salim and one of the fowards on the bench to come in.

They gotta fix and figure out that foward situation. Would be kinda lame if Josh Smith gets benched... which I don't think goes down. Maybe trade one of them away? (Get on it Geoff) ;)

I'd absolutely love any one of them (fowards) backing up Peja. Maybe dreaming, but it's possible. ;)

They'll be better but I wouldn't say playoffs. Though I'd love to see them get in there. :)

Classy? Perhaps. Way to sell tickets? Definitely.

It's not like people are going to be lining up around the block to buy Hawks-Clippers tickets.

;)

Yeah..I remember when the Clippers moved from San Diego while I was in college. They were giving away tickets, and still no one went to the games.

Now why can't they do this for the 2 games I'm going to? Oh maybe because it's teams people actually want to see. Hawks v. Clippers, let me camp out for that one;)

The prob with that lineup is that its essentially 4 G-F's and a F-C. Tweeners, all. jk.

But seriously. Johnson isn't what I'd call what you want as a PG. He IS a Steve Francise type of PG, but SF is moving to the off-guard position, so what does that say about that. Also, both Joshes from last year show a lot of potential at the 2-3, but they have allmighty Marvin sitting there, and Harrington isn't exactly a dope either.

I just don't see that lineup working out very well. The Johnson trade was just idiotic, that's all I can say. I'm tryiing to think of what they can do about trading a guy away, but 3 of them together have 2 years of exp and dont have the best trade value, at least not as much as they will have in a few years. They traded for Harrington last year, and just got Johnson so...

Harrington seems the most likely. but who wants him for what the hawks need?

Johnson trade just sucks.

Exactly,LOL. I could see if it were a more popular opponent that was actaully something worth watching, but most people wouldn't go to a hawks/clippers game if it were free.LOL

Giving away Hawks tickets is like giving away zuchini... nice gesture but but almost an anoyance and of no real value since the supply greatly out stirps the demand.

We got a new member of the community a couple of years ago up here who planted a beautiful garden his first summer here. I guess he didn't realize just how rich the forest soil was - his tomatoes and bell peppers were a force to be reckoned with. The main topic of discussion, however, was the incredible yield (at least in his eyes) of his zucchini plants. It got so bad that he actually drove around with baskets of zucchini, giving them away to anyone who would take them. In fact, if you weren't home, you were liable to return and find at least one and sometimes TWO baskets of zucchini. Eventually people had to stop him in the store or on the street and demand that he quit giving them zucchini.
