Wow. This is all going to get worse before it gets better, - in all areas-isn't it?
As far as I am concerned, considering the choices of all the players on the floor, Mike will be my choice 9 times out of 10 to take the last shot.
I do not perceive that Mike is playing worse in comparison to last year. He just has less talent around him. His passes, for the most part- ar just as good as previous seasons. The people he is passing to are missing many more shots. His play has not really regressed, his weaknesses are just more exposed. Of the three "core" players (leaving Bonzi out for the moment) who do you think the other teams focus on?
I really do not think that we need to focus our attentions on individuals for our losses. Its the TEAM. The TEAM needs help. Did we really expect much more out them? As far as I can see, they are playing with heart and determination again, they are just not able to get the job done the way it is configured.
Petrie has work to do to right this ship. I have said before that I am not a strong proponet of mid-season trades, but we MUST do it this year if we want to improve. There is no need for patience at this point. We have seen what this group can do. Now it is time for a change. I have no opinion of which players need to be traded. It no so much that they need to go as we need sombody to come in and help-- for the good of the TEAM.
I will only say this one time. We messed up last year with some trades. Its time to stop pretending otherwise and clean up the mess. They can do it. If they don't . . . I'll still be cheering for them.
