Ask Marty Mac...

Ezekielbear is going to be interviewing Marty Mac in a few days and he'll be asking Marty questions posed by people on his (eze's) board.

He's asked if we here would like to be involved, and we said SURE! So, if you have a question you'd like him to ask Marty, post it in this thread. He can't promise he'll get to all the questions, obviously, but he'll try to pick the best ones...and he'll post the answers here for us to see.

So, what would you like him to ask Marty Mac? This isn't a goof thread so please - none of the TDOS questions that Ezekielbear won't pick and Marty wouldn't answer anyway.

Thanks, Ezekielbear!

Sometime early next week I'll be getting together with Marty, so, get your questions in, in the next few days. Have fun guys.

transcripts here of the Q & A would be great as i don't live close enough to hear it.

Does he indeed think that Musselmans defensive mind will have an affect on the Kings players not noted for their defense? Thus actually making the Kings a more rounded defensive unit.

Ask him, with him being in the business and all, where he ranks Sacramento's sports reporting/commentary scene. Is it diverse enough and are there enough voices.

Question for Marty Mac.

I'm curious how you came to be in sacramento, where you worked before, and how, if the Kings were to leave, would it affect your career here?

Jim Thomas

The Maloofs were hardly in the equation at that point, they were merely in an advisory role. Jim Thomas was the majority owner at that point and more responsible for deciding the Webber deal, after Petrie brought it to the table.

yeah ask him As a Bee Sports Columnist
What's his general opinion on Ailene Voisin's articles regarding the Kings ?
What does he think about Grant's radio show?

Um, the deal the shipped Webb to Philly? Not the great hosing of Washington.

Does Marty think the Kings are done dealing as far as the offseason is concerned, or does he think the Kings will have another deal before the season starts?

Also, what's Marty's opinion on the Bonzi situation? Does he think that Bonzi himself or his agent was mainly at fault for that situation going sour.

How much longer do you think the Kenny Thomas/Shareef Abdul Rahim situation at power forward will last?

Are the maloofs really committed to trying to get the arena deal through, or would they ultimately be happy having the franchise move elsewhere?

will geoff's signature "holding his cards to himself" fracture his ability to sign/trade any players with the current salary cap and the scarce amount of free agents available this offseason?

Question: If the vote does not pass in November, how quickly do you expect the Maloofs to announce that the Kings will leave town, either for Orange County or Las Vegas?

They won't be announcing a move to Vegas for a looooong time because of gambling, and David Stern doesn't want 3 teams in the LA, or any area...but...Kansas City, ironically, might pop up as a player before this is over.

Obviously that question is intended for Marty and not the rest of us, but it's too juicy to pass up. I doubt there will be an announcement. They'll work a deal with another city behind the scenes and then just move after the NBA season is over. Arco Arena will be torn down within a year of their move.

Interesting - a move back to a city the Kings used to play in. I haven't heard Kansas City pop up anywhere before.

I still think Stern will look long and hard at the O.C. Potentially huge fan base there, and San Diego & southern Riverside county as well.
