I'm not sure if that is a drawing of the arena or just of some of the structures in the area. The proximity of buildings, etc, lends me to believe it is the latter.

Also, the design is being performed by the city/county, not the Maloofs, and I get the impression they probably aren't beyond some initial planning stages.

I think the design itself could be fairly well along. I don't think the city/county will want to begin at square one on this, and if I recall, I think the Kings have mentioned before they had some pretty good ideas about what type of structure they felt would work the best.

It is a nice looking picture, however, so that's why I added it.

Looking at this:

http://www.cityofsacramento.org/dsd/current-projects/railyards/documents/conceptual-site-plan.pdf

I'm just wondering where this view takes place. It doesn't seem to, at first glance, fit with the layout of the arena area is all I am saying.
This actually is just the rendering of tne railyards from the Thomas people, it is just a general picture and has been out for about 6 months, and the arena itself will be designed and released by John Jerde(who also designed The Palms) at a later date upcoming.

That's my point - it isn't representative of anything.

More of a drawing than a rendering, isn't it? I usually associate a "rendering" with a computer-generated item based off a model of some sort....
