They just misunderstood the name of his label. Tru Warier doesn't mean he wants to be a Golden State true Warrior.

Eh, whatever. I think players have a lot of connections on a lot of different teams they could play up in an interview. Good story? Maybe. More likely just a little morsel thrown to the interviewer. You never know where you are going to end up, so don't burn bridges.
