Artest+Thomas for Curry+James

Looks like IT is trying to offer us this deal.

Kings send:
Artest
Kenny Thomas

Knicks send:
Eddy Curry
Jerome James

Reason:
Jerome James is garbage. Kenny Thomas is garbage. James is technically cheaper garbage (12.8m owed as opposed to 16.5m owed). Knicks add Ron Artest and Kings get a decent offensive big man.

If they give us a 1st rounder, sure, why not. Otherwise I feel hosed getting another bad contract in exchange.

Curry doesn't block and rebound well. Without a pick I'd let Artest walk over that.

There aren't many trades I'd reject involving Artest, but this is one of them. If Curry showed a willingness to improve and work hard, sure. But he hasn't done that. He is lazy and would take more time away from Spencer, who isn't getting much as it is.

Now, if they throw in a pick, even a second rounder, that's a different story. I think they should throw in a 1st if that's the proposed trade, 'cause it stinks in favour of them.

Yeah, heard about this last night. Of course the first question I asked was: What are we going to do with all the big men? We'd then have Brad Miller, Eddy Curry, Mikki Moore, Justin Williams, Spencer Hawes, Jerome James...Moore would come off the bench and you'd start Miller at the 5 and Curry at the 4?? I guess that would shelve Hawes until at least Curry/Miller/Moore's contracts are up, right?? I didnt like this deal AT ALL when I heard about it...and think it's a bunch of bologna to begin with, just like most rumors that go awry. And there's NO way Isaiah would offer a draft pick, either. I see him making some sort of trade, but it wont be with us, more than likely...and it wont involve one Mr. Ron Artest.

Petrie is not stupid..

First of all whoever started this rumor is a dumbass. Reason is we have Brad Miller who is better than Curry, and actually gives us rebounding and can block about a shot a game. Behind Brad waiting int he wings we have a 19 year old prospect big in Hawes who looks to be the future once Brad is out of here.

Why the heck would we want Curry who does nothing for us? Sure the guy can score, but he is the worst rebounding center in the league, can't block a shot to save his life, and has a bad attitude and work ethic.

Yah, just the guy the Kings need.

If we were trading for the unstoppable force of Eddy Curry that plays against the Kings twice a year then I'd be all for it. Unfortunately if he is on our team he can't play against us anymore so you can say goodbye to the 25 point 12 rebound games. This trade just doesn't make sense for us as there is no place on our team for either of these players and we don't need to add to the payroll.

At this point I'm really hoping for a draft pick or two, even late first or early second round ones. We are really starting to see just as many emerging stars coming from late in the draft as we do from earlier.

One big risk/reward player that the Knicks are trying to dump is Zach Randolph. If he could be the player he was last year in Portland he would fill the Kings biggest need and I believe would turn the us into a playoff team. It's a big risk but so was Chris Webber when we got him. I'm not saying we should get him, it's just some food for thought.

Do the Knicks have any draft picks available? I'm under the impression that they're all tied up for the foreseeable future. If not, I agree with "thanks, but no thanks."

I think I'd turn Isaiah down for ANY trade offers...I'd let him know in a text message, too...and not in person:D I sure as hell dont want the junk that he's rumored to be offering us and everyone else. It's like 'Hey, can I trade you my 1980 Chevy Chevette for your 2008 Lexus? C'mon, it runs great, and you can trust me'
