Artest rejected the deal!?!?

OOF...this stings...especially for Peja.

Now we pretty much have to trade him, right?

Hey, everyone loves drama.

What were we thinking, getting excited about that loon?

Yeah.

Bring him here anyways.

I hope the Maloofs are talking to him personally right now.

Bring him in and trade him.

He still has more value than Peja.

The Maloofs are idiots.

Do the friggin deal!!!!! Artest has no choice but to report. Once he gets to know his teammates, our great fans, he would change his attitude.

Just like Chris Webber did. He didn't want to come here either.

And if Artest was still a psycho prima donna nut-job, we ship him off somewhere else. The Warriors, Nuggets, Lakers, Knicks and plenty others all want this guy.

A 3-way trade to the Knicks for Nate Robinson and David Lee....these would be great additions to our roster.

This is disappointing the Maloofs are showing no spine.

Webber and Artest are like apples and oranges. Webber wasnt happy to come here, but Artest may have threatened not to show up. Don't forget, this is a guy who's happy not to play. He hasnt played for Indiana in almost a month. Not like hes begging to come back.

I think that they will convince Ron to come I just know it.

I honestly HOPE NOT. Any team that touches this tru morawn with a 10 foot pole is going to explode. Man I can't believe this-Ron wouldn't even try it out. People were willing to give him a chance to start fresh and stuff, instead he wants to go to cleveland, ny, or not play at all apparently. Oh well he should get suspended, that way he has more time to work on his rap album-it sucks and needs work anyways.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Whe're now stuck again with stojakovic!! NOOOOOOO
Artest was just the player we needed, a defensive player

This is wrong.

Fire Adelman Fire Petrie Fire Maloofs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Artest screwed over the Pacers 100x more then he did us. We still have Peja which is still a tradable piece. Of course now I think he will have to be traded but thats my opinion only.

Artest on the other hand stuck one more knife in the back of Bird and Walsh. He totally screwed them over and did even more to drop his trade value.

ABOUT the craziest Kings news days ever.

I still can't believe!!!
First they brought me to tears and now I am so excited I don't know what to do with myself!!!:D
Good bye Artest and GO PEJA!!!!

Is it me or lot of people on the board seems pretty happy that Peja is still the King?!

As do I. I just think now they are trying to find that third team that will take him off of our hands. I was so happy Peja was leaving, now I am once again bummed out.

Webber WAS NOT going to report to the Kings at all. It wasn't until a talk with his dad convinced him to get on the plane and give it a try.

I'm upset with Artests decision, but I'm more upset Peja is still here.

The next move for Petrie and the Maloofs would be to work a 3-way trade. We know the Pacers want Peja.

Petrie needs to talk to Isiah and get him to part with Nate Robinson, David Lee and a #1 draft pick.

I don't know what to think. I was mostly happy Peja was gone, not that Artest is coming here. Now I can just picture a nearly-traded Peja with a baby on the way having even more of a mental block.

Crazy day!!!

He was "wishy-washy" and people who know him knew that he understood the business. Artest is the complete opposite. He lives for himself and treats the NBA as a freakin New York playground and a game of HORSE.

Per NBA TV..DEAL MAY NOT BE %100 DEAD
The Kings have reportedly told Peja not to bother showing up tonight. Talks may still be onging...

My guess- the Pacers are trying to entice the Kings to take Ron anyway- a 1st rounder maybe? Anthony Johnson?

Post time 6:39pm

(I thought Indy was EST, not MST but that looks like it's EST).

dammit! NO NO NO! i read the story about Peja being traded on my way home on my cell phone and nearly died.....you can't tell me that it has been called off!

Artest has a way of coming around though....early in the year when he said he wanted to be traded, he came back a week later and said that he'd like to rejoin his team. I think he'll come around and the deal will go through. This is all stalling.

Either way...Peja will be traded extremely soon. Petrie cannot keep him after this for sure. Hey, if we can snag some young athletic players from Chicago, I'd take that over taking this nut-case, albeit, All-star.

Dammit, this sucks...let the trade go through!

What would Peja have to do in Sacramento for you Peja bashers to want him to stay?
Show some heart, some desire, and the willingness to show up in the fourth quarter.

Really not comparable. One's a young immature kid not wanting to go play for the NBA's ultimate Siberia until his dad tells him "be man, be a pro". The other is just lost in own little world and apparently irretrievable.

Personally I would rather see others go than Peja, but now that Peja knows Petrie is actively wanting to trade him, hes not going to feel welcomed. I think the button has been pushed and something needs to happen before the trade deadline. SOMEONE needs to go. This team is horrid as is. How the hell do you beat good teams and turn around and lose to bad teams is beyond me. I think this is the first time in NBA history that everyone, including the media fell hard on Artest coming here only to get the nutcase to nix us. This is embarrassing. I think Peja is the most embarrassed. Guess Peja is going to get headlines everyday now until he gets traded, and thats going to make him worse off since he seems to be a very emotional guy. WERE SCREWED. :\

Wasn't trying to compare at all. Just trying to point out that Webb was not going to report rather than simply saying that he didn't want to come here. That's all.

Goes to show you what a head case Artest really is. He'll quit on your team at any time. Who wants to deal with that? He's a loser. Kings are better off.

Never wanted Peja traded anyway.......
