Artest/pollard for bonzi/peja ???

ok...im not trying to start anything here other than ask if anyone knows of this or has heard of this...

supposedly, and i didnt hear it myself-maybe someone can say yea or nay, bucher was just on espnnews and said the pacers are considering 2 offers, one of which is peja and bonzi for artest and pollard...

if this turns out to be a hoax then i apologize and truthfully im trying to find out if it is or not....any word out ur way on such a thing?

Haven't heard anything, but I can't express how much I DISLIKE that idea. I'd hate to give up Bonzi as a part of any deal...especially for a nutcase.

We'd have to start Garcia at the 2...I don't see how that makes us any better. We'd need to have Bonzi and Artest on the floor at the same time to see any considerable improvement.

i really dislike this. that's trading down, most certainly. can't give up two starters for artest and change (pollard ain't even close to what he used to be). peja and a bencher for artest and pollard would be fine with me, but not peja and bonzi. that's just plain nuts.

I HOPE not. If Petrie pulls the trigger on that I'd hope he gets fired. Yeah we need changes, but giving up Peja AND Bonzi for ron and a washed up scott pollard isn't one of them. Rebuild the bench mob please.

the only reason i find this "rumor" to be encouraging is because it may mean that GP hasn't shut the door on peja for artest talks. i just hope it isn't this specific trade rumor.

not very fond of peja these days, myself, but yeah...i'm lovin' bonzi. his heart and determination > than the rest of the kings team all together. not worth losing that on top of peja for a loose cannon--though incredibly talented player--like artest. peja for artest sounds good to me. no need to complicate things by giving the pacers bonzi as well. any spare change or [second round] picks would be fine, also. but not two starters. artest, as talented as he is, isn't worth that much.

I doubt this is true. Petrie would have to be an idiot to include bonzi for Pollard. Considering that ever since Pollard was traded from us the first time he has been hurt consistently. And then that would leave he 2 guard open. Who are we going to start. Martin or Garcia. I dont see this happening.

Bonzi at his absolute peak means that we can package him with a former MVP candidate (admittedly on the decline) for a good player who's stock has hit rock bottom? This isn't a "bargain rate"- our team gets worse. It's not an issue of is Artest good, it's is he worth 2 of our starters. Probably not.

This rumor may not be exactly as it was reported- they never are. Maybe it was something along the lines of Kings were discussing giving up 2 players- Peja/Thomas or Peja/Corliss?

Then again, Indy trading Pollard doesn't make much sense at all, seeing as this is his last year, so they would want serviceable talent in exchange. (Maybe they really like KT? One can hope)

If this deal went down as is, I might have to cry. Expiring contracts! Wooray! We're still over the cap!

this needs to go in the TRADE thread, not in here...and I doubt this is anything more than a drummed up media rumor. The Kings giving up 2 starters for 1 starter and 1 banged up bench guy, sounds just stupid.
