It is nearly impossible to see us taking that flyer given how youth oriented we have become, how image conscious, and how often we talk about the good group of guys and good lockerrroom we have going. I am actually one of the few remamining who is not coinvinced that Areanas is that bad a guy, just an idiot. But he would be a massive distraction and I sincerely doubt we want that given our current situation.
Yes he was an idiot but i think he would change his tune now that he realizrs hat he can lose. I probably wouldnt let my daighter date him but i love watchin him play ball
anyone who can drop 60 pts on the lakers and 31 in the 4th qtr and OT while kobe is sticking him is ok in my books but most of you have higher standards
I haven't done the math just yet, but I'm not sure we'd have the cap space to sign either of those players to a max salary after trading for Arenas. Both the salaries of Cisco and Nocioni would add up to around 12 mil. Arenas is due just under 18 mil. So that would still take around 5.8 mil off of our cap space. We need around 3 mil for our draft pick. So thats roughly 9 mil less to work with. We would have around 23 mil to start, so that would leave us with around 14 mil in cap space. Both Stoudemire and Bosh would require around 16 or 17 mil to start. Even if we were able to convince them to sign for the 14 mil, we would be staped out for the forseeable future.
I'm also in the camp that Arenas isn't a bad guy. Just one that does stupid things from time to time. He won't be 29 years old until next january. I'm just not sure he'd be a good fit. He likes the ball in his hands a lot. The question is, how much of a difference maker would he be? I'd have to think about it for a while..
Good deal for us talent-wise, but no thanks. Other than him being an idiot, he needs the ball to be effective, just like Evans. I don't really see Arenas becoming an off-the-ball type of player.
