are they better off without webber? it all depends significantly on what happens this summer.
Very true^, but as a Kings fan I find it strange talking about next year in Feb...

Without a doubt pick up in rebounding? Man, those are some serious shades you've got on. If we are LUCKY, these guys can just about replace Webb on the boards. Maybe. Not sure how anybody came to the conclusion that these guys were going to be grabbing big clutch rebounds. Actually Thomas, while a respectable player on the boards, does much of his work on the OFFENSIVE glass with hustle, while on the defensive glass, our real weakness, he often gets boarded over because of his height. Corliss has never been a boarder. And Skinner is unlikley to play, and certainly not in clutch time.
Yup, I keep seeing posts about improved rebounding and improved defense with the addition of Williamson, Thomas and Skinner, but I don't see it either. Not in thier play and not in the stat sheet.

I keep thinking I missed something. I think people are hopeful that we will improve with rebounding and defense because those are the areas we are lacking in, but I don't see any proof that these are the players that can help us there.

I think we might have improved overall on D, but Def not in rebs. Webb did also have a knack for making big defensive plays at the end of games and seemed to play much more solid D in the playoffs. We def have a faster more athletic front court now, but unfortunately it's kinda undersized too.

No, the Kings are not a better team without Webber and replaced with the 3 guys we got.

The interesting thing in my eyes is though, we considerably match up better with the teams that are at the top of the western conference. PHX, SEA, DAL, SA all have big athletic forwards that Webber will never be able to defend again. I don't buy into the theory that every PF is a better defender then Webber but I do believe Thomas and Songaila are better defenders then Webber.

Overall...
Rebounding is a wash. Songaila/Thomas/Miller will make up the difference in Webber's 9.7RBG

Assists we took a big hit. Bibby is now gonna have to run the offense.

Depth is better considerably. Williamson is a much better scorer then Barnes and rebounds just as well. Williamson also makes less TO. Skinner is no different then Bradley. Songaila will get more minutes up front and Thomas will make an impact defensively up front off the bench, something we haven't had all season.

Chances at a championship this year? I'd say a bit lower.

Chances at a championship the next two seasons? Time will tell of course but with a re-energized and happy Peja and some additional financial flexibility I like our chances.

I love Chris Webber as a player and as a fan. I am sad to see him leave. I have, however moved from "this is the worse trade ever" to "this might be best for us" mode of thinking.

Showing once again what a class act he is. I realy, realy am missing him already.

Chris is good player, before that injury he was good just like garnett.

But can u imagine Chris playin for Suns ,no. why not?

Its wierd but Kings are playing better without him, and u will see.

Now they r gonna run, run, run and move the balll. Bibby ,Peja,Bobby,Brad,Mobly they can shoot.

Kings will be playin just like couple years ago when Webber was healthy.

Kings = Suns.
