Arco Thunder Is Back!!!

G-League
Something had been missing from Arco Arena the past 2 1/2 seasons... and that was the ARCO THUNDER!!!... the crowd at arco had become more subdued in the past 2+ years... reserving much of the arco thunder for the playoffs... many times i would sit at home watching the games, wondering if the kings were in sacto or playing in new orleans... the fans were getting complacent with winning... ASSUMING the team would win every game at home... the fans did not make the kind of noise they used to, back in the good old days (2002 season and prior)... and i think that contributed to the kings average (for their standards) record at home this year...

until now... after all of the trades and moves made by petrie, the kings fans inside arco have REAWAKENED... no longer taking winning for granted... there is new excitement inside of arco... the ARCO THUNDER IS BACK!!!... starting with the pistons game on sunday, the arco crowd has regained its form and place in NBA opponents lure... i think with the ARCO THUNDER BACK, the kings will feed off this new found arco energy and reassert its arco dominance... all i can say for ALL the kings fans in arco is... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND KEEP THE ARCO THUNDER COMING!!!

GO KINGS!!!

You are right. The ARCO crowd had grown spoiled, was taking the winning and the beauty of the game for granted. I think the trade lowered some peoples expectations, maybe shook some people up enough for them to appreciate winning again. We'll see what happens if they struggle a bit

Cant afford to struggle a bit at this time, were only 5 losses from not making the top 8, assuming Denver, Houston, Memphis, and the Lakers win their games. We've got a long stretch of home games. Lets win some.

agreed. a lot of people got into that "nothing short of a championship is good enough" thinking, and took our team for granted. now we are just looking at getting a decent chance at making the 2nd round, we can enjoy the season one game at a time. also, there is some rebuilding going on & it brings back some excitement. Having new players & learning what they are capable of makes each game a little more entertaining...

I felt the same thing. I've been to ten games this year, last night was the first game post trade.

There's definetley a renewed sense of excitement at Arco. Prior to the trade it seemed like there was an impending sense of doom.

At least for now, things feel GOOD at Arco!

I think this is the real shame, and it's been a pet peeve of mine for the last few years.

Some of us aren't the "nothing short of a championship is good enough" type, but people like me are the "nothing short of making the playoffs is good enough" type. We still have most of last years starters, 3 out of 5 (Miller, Bibby, and Peja), with added Defense and rebounding. So, lets just concentrate in playoffs for the time being So hopefully I don't make your little black list of pet peeves :)

Wow, I'm glad Arco is waking up! It should be wild come May. Do you think there's a chance that we could take the No.4 spot from Dallas? Is it a dream? One of my other dreams is to see a game live in Arco. It's almost impossible, but hey, dreams come true, don't they?

The Arco crowd has been louder these past two games, you can really hear it even on T.V. I hope they can keep it up, it really helps the team.

Realistically with our defensive liabilities it would have been a shock if we made it to the second round anyhow. I think if anything we have a better shot than before and I've thought that since reality set in the day after the trade. You can't win a championship with NO DEFENSE!!! We had NO DEFENSE!!!

yeah i noticed that too....and i hope they keep up the good work as well

I have an observation and I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this. I've been to quite a few games some I was sitting in the lower section and once I was in the VERY last row waayyy up top. As good of a view as I had in the lower section the fans were just too quiet, hardly anyone clapped when shots were made I almost felt like I was at the movies or something. That being said sitting up top was the OPPOSITE experience I am a loud, vocal fan and I was totally drowned out. I had to scream so loud the next day I had no voice and a splitting headache. Anyone else at Arco notice this? Or is it just me?

What I feel is the reason behind the lack of 'Arco Thunder' is the Ticket pricing, type of people who are going to games and the success of the kings.
There are more and more people going to games who are not the loud fanatics of years before. if you look at the crowd you will see less and less of fans who are dressed up in Kings gear.
If you have every watched a Twolves game or a Lakers game you will know what I mean the wolves fans who actually show up for the game in the lower level only about 1/4 of them look as though they are there to see a basketball game. same with the lakers.
I also think the fans are getting used to the kings being a great team. if you remember before 98-99 season the kings scoring and winning a game was not there like it is today.
It is unfortunate but this is the price the Kings and Fans have to pay for becoming a succesful franchise.

All I Want ...

Is for OUR King's to compete ....

The benefits will come ... they always do. If not today, maybe tomorrow.

I'll tell you what guys, I was at the game against the grizz on tues, didn't get back til today...Arco was definitely crazy that night. That was absolutely one of the greatest things I had ever encountered in person. They may sound sad to some, but man, i can't even describe being there. It was just....awesome.

BIBBY IS CLUTCH!!!!!!

It's not just you...

The crowds in the upper section just seem, for the most part, to be much more into the whole "Arco" experience. On the other hand, if you're sitting next to Kingsgurl, it doesn't matter where you are. Seeing a game with her is like ... well, let's see...

Hmmmm. There's nothing quite like the fun of attending a game with someone like KG.

:D

I just wanna know, what happened to the CowBells? I absolutely loved it when the entire arena would whip those things out.....why did they stop??

Probably because most of the cow bell janglers were throttled to death by the people having to sit next to them. ;)
