anyone frome LA know what a porch pie is?

going through the sports guy marathon chat and mentions that these are the greatest pies in the world and can only be delivered to you if you live in LA.

The neighbor's dog has left behind porch pies before, I know that.

In reading at the link you provided, I learned that porch pies is simply the name of the company this family started. It got its name because they deliver these specialty southern pies right to your porch (i.e. your home). It looks like they have pies that are favorites in the south. I saw pictures and ads about buttermilk pies, pecan pies, sweet potatoe pies and various flavors of chess pies. Mmmmmm! They sure look good.

yep, i think they're actually called chess pies? but they sure do sound good, i'll have to try some eventually. "somewhere between a custard and a cheesecake." mmmmmm

Thanks for the link. I don't know if they were around when I lived in LA but I would have passed simply because my wife makes an excellent pie. When we have children she wants to stay home and she has considered doing something like this, I must pass this along to her.
