It has been quiet.
Considering that the Bulls just signed Korver to a 3 year 15 million deal and all he can do is shoot... then I think some teams see some value in that area. When you have an inside presence of big men and a guard that likes to get to the basket, then having a guy who can shoot the lights out if left open is worth the money. Punish the defense if they decide to sag into the paint.
Its more a question of there being few minutes for him to help during. Cisco, Beno, Casspi and Donte figure to eat up almost all of the SF/SG/backup PG minutes, and Morrow hasn't shown that's he's clearly better than any of those guys. Even if we did sign him, and to what would probably be an excessive contract to try to chase off the Warriors from matching, it would be hard for him to make much of an impact given what we already have there.
Personally, I don't want to see Donte or Casspi spending much time playing SG. I prefer both of them to get the majority of their minutes at SF. That leaves Beno and Cisco to eat up most of the minutes at SG (and back up PG). We all know that the chances of Cisco getting through a whole season without getting injured is very small. That should leave more than enough minutes for another SG to play for the Kings (whether it be Morrow or someone else).
Never mind. Morrow signed an offer sheet with the Nets. 3 years/12 million.

You have to assume that the Warriors will match that too. That was always going to one of the problems in trying to sign him -- you had to get outrageous to make it unpalatable for the Warriors.
The Golden State Warriors aren’t expected to match the offer, a league source said. Morrow has to take a physical Monday before he can sign the offer sheet. The Warriors will then have seven days to decide to match.
Sounds like the W's won't match. If not that's not such a bad deal on the Nets end. Could be one of those deals like Salmons with us.
From the article it says the Warriors aren't expected to match.
Good signing by the Nets. Not sure why GS won't match. They went from a team of practically only SFs to practically none.

I understand not paying morrow 4 mil, but I think we have to outbid N.O. for Luther Head. Head agreed to a 2.3 mil contract per hoopshype.com.
We should offer head 3 mil, sign brocky, and figure out who's better sloan or landesburg (then sign one).......
Where is this Cisco injured stuff coming from. Outside of the lifting accident, he has been a relatively injury free player. I just don't get it.We all know that the chances of Cisco getting through a whole season without getting injured is very small. Beno a backup PG? Wuh?
Beno is our starter at point guard. Tyreke is our starter at off-guard. Don't tell me you're drinking the "Tyreke is a point guard" kool-aid? Regardless of who our "real" point guard is, basically our starting backcourt should be Tyreke and Beno unless we get somebody that is a serious upgrade over Beno, and that doesn't appear to be happening. I honestly think the team was the most effective when Beno and Tyreke were on the floor together. The real question is, when Beno comes out of the game, who do we want on the floor with Tyreke? Also, when Tyreke has to come out, who do we want on the floor with Beno?
There are 96 minutes to divvy up between the 1 and 2 spot. Tyreke should get about 39 or 40 minutes per game. Let's say 40. That leaves another 56 minutes to be divvied up. Beno should get about 32 or 33 minutes, let's say 32, so that leaves another 24 minutes to likely be divided up between another point guard and another 2 guard. Dante and Casspi will primarily get their minutes at the 3, but I think Casspi and Cisco might get a few minutes at the two spot. Say they each play about 4 minutes per game at the 2, then that leaves 16 minutes left over to divvy up between the two players we end up getting to fill those roles.
Obviously, this is assuming nobody gets injured (knocks on wood), so we always have to be prepared for the worst, and consider getting a much better player than 8 or 9 minutes per game would dictate.
I'm always sorry to hear that some people did not get a chance to watch the Kings play last season -- you should have been there. It was the most fun we've had in years.

Look, I know that Tyreke will continue to be labeled as the "point guard" for the team, and in the NBA, from a marketing perspective, but let's be honest with ourselves. Tyreke isn't a true point. He's an amazing player, and he can definitely play the point if you want to put him there, but he's not a natural point. Beno is a point, even if he's a scoring point guard. He's a legitimate point. It really doesn't matter who get's the label of point guard. The bottom line is that our team seems to do the best when Beno and Reke are playing with each other. They work well together. The bulk of the minutes should be those two guys in the backcourt, regardless of how they are labeled. Still, we do need to have a backup for both players. Cisco can definitely play a bit at the 2 guard, and can even bring the ball up occasionally, but we still need two more guards imo.
