well 7 it is... lol! not surprising...

but before we all have total meltdowns... lets take a walk down memory lane...

2009 - no Blake Griffen no Rubio ... but we got ROY ! Tyreke Evans! who is a beast when healthy... and with a little more work on that jumper could be an absolute monster for years to come...

2010 - no Favors, Turner or Wall... but we got a monster mentally (ha) and physically... once again, on talent alone he could end up being better than everyone in this class... hopefully with time he will continue to learn to control his aggression and competitiveness... which btw aren't terrible things to have as a 6'11 player... no soft Pau Gasol here... just Pau Gasols worst nightmare... and possible Westphal's also ... lol!

so the moral of the story is that we might not need to hit the panic button just yet... Petrie has done a pretty good job with all his picks and a great job with picks within the top 10...

the number 7 could prove lucky once again.

I'm still on a high from keeping the team after thinking they were gone, so the lottery screw job doesn't bother me a fraction as much as it would have in previous years. 7 isn’t so bad anyways. Some good players that have went # 7...

Greg Monroe
Stephen Curry
Luol Deng
Nenê Hilario
Richard Hamilton
Jason Williams

how bout this.... kevin johnson drafted at #7 ... wore #7 ... lands #7 pick for the kings 777 JACKPOT!!!! LOL! sounds pretty good to me... we didn't need a lebron james ( although it would be nice) we need a player than can come in here and play with the 2 stars we already have... i have an immense amount of faith that DMC and REKE could be an amazing combo in due time... we really just need a good piece that fits with what we got... im sure Petrie is on it and gonna pick a winner.

honestly landing and resigning Marcus Thornton is like landing the top pick in this years draft anyway... all we need is a player that fits...

KJ wore 7???

You think this org would have learned after getting the 4th pick when we sent Mr. 4 himself to represent us in the Griffin lotto. :p

wouldnt be worried to much who we pick... afterall our GM is tried and tested in getting good talent...

Other notable players going 7 or lower:

Chris Mullin (7)
Amar'e Stoudemire (9)
Tracy McGrady (9)
Dirk Nowitzki (9)
Paul Pierce (10)
Reggie Miller (11)
Karl Malone (13)
Kobe Bryant (13)
Peja Stojakovic (14)
Clyde Drexler (14)
Tim Hardaway (14)
Steve Nash (15)
John Stockton (16)
Shawn Kemp (17)
Zach Randolph (19)
Gerald Wallace (25)
Vlade Divac (26)
Dennis Rodman (27)
Tony Parker (28)
Gilbert Arenas (30)
Manu Ginobili (57)

Among these are some of the best players in NBA history. For sure all of them were/are better than any of the current Kings players.

I like the spirit of the thread but there's not many star players likely to come out of this draft. With that being said, I think this draft is being slightly underrated as I do think there will be quite a few solid role players to come out of it. They just won't get the recognition that the stars receive.

I'm completely satisfied with the 7th pick. The core is in place, time to build around

Some others I'll add to that list.

Chris Mullin
Vinnie (microwave) Johnson
Damon Stoudamire
Kevin Johnson
Eric Gordon
Benard King
Roy Tarpley

The year we drafted Jason Williams at 7, Boston took Paul Pierce at number 10.
