AD is a better win now piece than Fox. Both considering the makeup of their roster and in general. I’ll give them that.
Is De’Aaron even a Win-now piece? He’s won once in his 8 year career.

The Lakers have absolutely no assets that we’d want though.Maybe the Luka trade helps us in a roundabout way if Fox is enticed by going to LA to play with Luka. He was obviously interested in the second fiddle role with Wemby and an equally enticing position just opened up in a market with enough endorsements potential to mitigate some of the Texas tax savings. And Klutch very obviously likes LAL
if spurs don’t trade for him now they’re costing him money and there’s now a new very serious possible second suitor for his services that wasn’t there before. I assume it’d have to be some cap magic to get him there next summer. But maybe it’s something to motivate SAS

Austin Reeves and Bronny James.
The most we could ask for is Gabe Vincent’s 10 million dollar contract and a protected second.Come on, the Lakers would never give up either of those superstars just to get Fox.

They just traded a injury prone 32 year old for a top 10 player of all time in his prime they don’t need assets to get ratings up I mean to trade for players
Agreed, SAS clearly has best offer. I’m speaking just about Spurs perspective if they get cute and try to lowball us thinking that De’Aaron is going there no matter what. That calculus might have changed since last night
Luka is what now?
Serious question, could we be a trade partner to Dallas to get Lively or Gafford and picks for DFox?
You don’t think that was his trajectory?
HOF for sure. He's a long ways away from top 10 all time. I dont think Jokic is there yet and he's got 3 MVPs and a titleYou don’t think that was his trajectory?

Top-10 all time? I mean, maybe? Someday? But I think it's enough to say that he's an MVP-caliber player and a generational talent. Let's see if he can win a title before we start making room on or near NBA Mount Rushmore for him.
I sure wouldn’t mind PJ and or Gafford coming our way but doubt anything resembling 3 first are in the cards considering the Luka fiasco.Fox/filler for PJ/Gafford/Exum/3 first rounders. That would be a great return considering.
They should have done the deal on Friday, when "all went quiet," and taken Castle off the demand sheet. Now everything is screwed up and no one knows what to think or how to evaluate a player or a trade.
Not to mention, the Sacramento Bee headline:
"De’Aaron Fox trade rumors bringing surge of ‘bad energy’ to Sacramento Kings’ locker room"
I know we want a good return, but the captain dithering while the ship is sinking is never a good look. The Kings just gave up 82 points in a single half last night.
So we should take a terrible deal? Jeez, even if we lose every game the rest of the season and get a better deal in the summer I will take that over the likelihood of what the Mavs future looks like. They should have done the deal on Friday, when "all went quiet," and taken Castle off the demand sheet. Initially he did but he was relieved of that after some fixed time period. As happens to every CEO/President figure that sells the company they found and has some stay on period, to their surprise and horror they get "fired" as soon as that contractual period ends.1. I thought Cuban retained managing control when he sold, i guess I was confused on that
2. Who had to sign off on this deal? Who is the managing partner of the Macs that said, yes, yes I agree with this trade.
