Amick: De’Aaron Fox requests trade

Is De’Aaron even a Win-now piece? He’s won once in his 8 year career.
It depends on the point of view of the rival GM. Considering the Kings don't exactly have a sterling reputation around the NBA, it's not hard to imagine that most front offices might think the Kings' assorted talent is underachieving because of the organization, rather than the other way around.

AD is a better win now piece than Fox. Both considering the makeup of their roster and in general. I’ll give them that.
If you're Harrison, you're betting that AD/Kyrie is a championship duo, rather than just a "win now" duo. I mean, that had better be the position you're taking if you're trading away a young MVP-caliber talent just scratching the surface of his prime. I still think it's foolhardy. And insane. Personally, I don't believe in AD/Kyrie as a championship duo, but let's assume for a moment that they're good enough together to challenge for a title. Who wants to give away the future to go up against the OKC juggernaut if your window is as short as the Mavs is now? Klay's a shell of what he once was. And AD/Kyrie struggle to stay on the court. As an organization, you can work on getting Luka into better shape. But good luck trying to stop injuries from happening to injury-prone players.

Maybe the Luka trade helps us in a roundabout way if Fox is enticed by going to LA to play with Luka. He was obviously interested in the second fiddle role with Wemby and an equally enticing position just opened up in a market with enough endorsements potential to mitigate some of the Texas tax savings. And Klutch very obviously likes LAL

if spurs don’t trade for him now they’re costing him money and there’s now a new very serious possible second suitor for his services that wasn’t there before. I assume it’d have to be some cap magic to get him there next summer. But maybe it’s something to motivate SAS

The Lakers have absolutely no assets that we’d want though.

After that Luka to the Lakers insider bs, there is zero chance we’re winning a Fox trade.

Also, we don’t owe the Spurs jack ****. I hate them almost as much as GS. Pop hailed as the greatest coach of all time. Not to mention he’s been gifted two of the greatest power forwards of all time for their entire careers with an all star cast surrounding them for what 20-25 years? Then has the world’s fastest rebuild fueled by magically landing the next great generational talent? RIGGED ASS LEAGUE.

HOF for sure. He's a long ways away from top 10 all time. I dont think Jokic is there yet and he's got 3 MVPs and a title
You don’t think Jokić is top 10? I think he’s top 5 player I’ve ever watched but you could be older than me. He’s for sure better than any version of lebron I don’t care that lebron has more rings either. How many rings does Jokic get if he ring chased the last five years playing with Tatum or SGA.

Top-10 all time? I mean, maybe? Someday? But I think it's enough to say that he's an MVP-caliber player and a generational talent. Let's see if he can win a title before we start making room on or near NBA Mount Rushmore for him.
Well he’s gonna be racking up wins and championships with the LA whistle and Ant Man in a couple years.

Also mavs GM was considered “like an uncle” to bronny before the draft and was a Nike executive and we’re supposed to believe this was a good faith trade when he only talked to LA

Fox/filler for PJ/Gafford/Exum/3 first rounders. That would be a great return considering.
I sure wouldn’t mind PJ and or Gafford coming our way but doubt anything resembling 3 first are in the cards considering the Luka fiasco.
Fox needs to be moved, and Dallas could make sense as well as Miami. I’m loosing faith in Monte to make that move at this point. Don’t think he’s got the chops to navigate his way around what has become an increasingly aggressive business

We are screwed.

We are not trading Fox and our season is over. The GM has no Balls
Fox has no Balls

You need balls to win, not just basketballs either.

Say what you want about this ridiculous trade, Mavs have a better chance of winning today than they did yesterday. They got rid of two ball handlers and now have one, who happneds to also be a generational talent.

Mavs will be fine. It's us I'm worried about

They should have done the deal on Friday, when "all went quiet," and taken Castle off the demand sheet. Now everything is screwed up and no one knows what to think or how to evaluate a player or a trade.

Not to mention, the Sacramento Bee headline:

"De’Aaron Fox trade rumors bringing surge of ‘bad energy’ to Sacramento Kings’ locker room
"

I know we want a good return, but the captain dithering while the ship is sinking is never a good look. The Kings just gave up 82 points in a single half last night.

Sorry, but no. Just because Dallas operates like an idiot doesn't mean we sell our star
off like an idiot. The relationship is over, but it's more important than ever to get the return haul right

So we should take a terrible deal? Jeez, even if we lose every game the rest of the season and get a better deal in the summer I will take that over the likelihood of what the Mavs future looks like.

1. I thought Cuban retained managing control when he sold, i guess I was confused on that

2. Who had to sign off on this deal? Who is the managing partner of the Macs that said, yes, yes I agree with this trade.
Initially he did but he was relieved of that after some fixed time period. As happens to every CEO/President figure that sells the company they found and has some stay on period, to their surprise and horror they get "fired" as soon as that contractual period ends.

Guitar people recently have Randall Smith as an example when Gibson bought Mesa/Boogie amps a few years back and unceremoniously fired him late last year and blackballed several artists who talked about it.
