Entertaining night last evening. One excellent, one very good, three good performances and the rest were pretty average. But entertaining none the less.
PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT - Melinda Doolittle (A+)
THAT WAS IT!!!! She said "I Got Rhythm" and she ain't lying she's got it. It was electric, professional. She is such a technician. She is head and shoulders above everybody else when it comes to professionalism and technical skills. She literally sang three songs in one flawlessly. Brilliant!!!
Blake Lewis (B/B-)
He sang "Mac The Knife". Not spetacular, but good. Over the last two weeks, we have not seen Blake-like performances. And that is when he is at his best and able to shine. His vocals were more in the spotlight, and that is when you see his vulnerability. I want to hear him BLOW. It did not happen last night. But he was good enough.
Phil Stacey (C)
I was kind of confused the whole time he was on stage. there was this weird disconnect between him, the song and the band. They were all on stage, but not together.
Chris Richardson (C)
WARNING BIASED COMMENTS COMING: I thought his appearance was not good. The problem I have with Chris is that he has no maturity in his voice, in a group that is full of mature voices. He was OK, the judges liked him more than I did.
Jordin Sparks (B-)
She once again had a little lamb in her throat. She was good, her breathing was not good.
Gina Glockson (B-)
Once again a solid performance. I just knew she was in trouble when Mr. bennett said that "Smile" remined him of September 11.

She was a tad bit boring, but she sang well. She is showing that she can break out of the rocker chick sound if she wants to.
Sanjaya Malakar (C)
He actually looked nice. But that is about all I can say. He wasn't horrible. He is so dog gone reserved. He needs to break out of that soft singing and take some chances. His
"WELCOME TO THE UNIVERSE OF SANJAYA" comment may be the break we all have been looking for. I hope America was turned off by that smugness of his.
Haley Scarnato (D+)
Somebody has told her to sex it up. Because I swear, over the past few weeks she is showing more skin. Don't get me wrong, she looks hot, but it ain't helping her talent. Last night she reminded me of Jessica Rabbit. She was pichy and a little off, worst performance of the night.
Lakisha Jones (A-)
The sass, the attitude is all in her face, and that is what makes her performances appealing. She literally feels the music, unlike some others in this competition. Her vocals were very good. I know some on this board, may see anger. Don't confuse anger with passion, she has passion. Stormy Weather is a song to be sang with passion. Her best performance in the last couple of weeks.
Predicted Bottom Three: Haley, Phil and finally a Sanjaya appearance in the Top Three.
Going Home: Phil
