Allen Iverson?

i know that the 76ers GM came out and said they will not trade Allen Iverson, but a lot of times when GMS acknowledges they were talking about trading a player, the player will be traded... for example, Chirs Webber, the kings repeatedly stated they would not trade Webb, but did... therefore, I think the "we "expect" AI back in Philly statement is just a smoke screen, in case they can't deal him.... I still think they are trying to move him...

with the maloofs always trying to get the team some national attention, is GP secretly thinking of trading for AI?... of course this would be a maloof orchestrated trade, ala Artest

1) Bibby, KT, Garcia for A.I. and Steven Hunter... the kings get their two Super Stars players (AI and Artest) and a shot blocking backup bigman in Hunter... the 76ers get a younger all-star caliber point guard, an up and coming swing man and depth in the front court with KT.....

Unrealistic? the rumor around the draft was AI to the Celts in a 3 way trade for the #7 pick (Randy Foye) and Carlos Boozer or Wally Sczerbiac... bibby has better value than bozer IMO...

they always say, you don't win a championship without 2 superstars... and AI and Artest are 2 superstars....

this would also give the kings the publicity and excitement to try to get their arena bill passed... otherwise an off season of john salmons signing is not going to put the kings in the news and have people buzzing in the nba...

I know I'm in the minority, but I'd like to have Iverson. He's more valuable than ever with the new rules. If you could get the old dog to do some new tricks and stop dribbling around so much and work to involve his teammates he'd be ideal. He's certainly never had a supporting cast as good as Artest and whoever would be left.

I doubt that's possible, but it's not often a superstar of AI's caliber becomes available, and at this point I think it would be worth a shot. What do the Kings have to lose besides their mediocrity?

exactly my point... with this current team, the kings would be fighting for the 7th or 8th spot in the playoffs... with Iverson and a defensive big (Dalembert or Hunter), the kings suddenly matter again...

and for all of you that wanted to trade KT for a bag of chips, here is your chance... if you add bibby and KT contracts up it equals iverson contract... so it would be essentially Bibby (KT's a throw in to match salaries) for Iverson....

Bibby and AI both have 3 years left on their contracts... AI's contract would be off the books in 3 years, 1 year before KT's horrific contract...

In that case, I prefer to pursue KG.

I love Iverson, but we have pretty good backcourt. IMO, we NEED NOT to change our backcourt for a time.
