I'm not a veteran but I'm the daughter of an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Thank you all for your service.

Thanks for checking in an representing your dad, VF21. Family members have always had to sacrifice for their loved ones to serve. We salute you.

Hmmm! Veterans Day and Kings game today. May have to go see if there are any $10 seats left so I can celebrate the holiday. :p

My dad was in the Air Force for a while, but never served overseas.

I would like to take this time to say thanks to all the vets for your service!

God Bless!

I would also like to say my thanks to all the veterans.

and a special thought to these vets:

Uncle Allen - Air Force Vet
Ed Haase - Army Airborne Ranger vet ( I miss ya Ed)

I asked my dad for a list of vets from the families and this is what I got:
Too big a task for me to do right now. I’ll work on it.
Off hand: Wayne, Dale, Glenn, Ted, Darlene, Nancy

and from mom: Vern WW1; his son Paul-Vietnam; my brother Albert - Korean war; his son Bruce-Desert Storm. My Uncle Leonard -WW2.

If you want to go way back my great grandfather Nathan -Union side of Civil War.

All veterans have a special place in my heart and on this day a great salute of thanks.

Dad (died last year at 80) was a vet of WWII (Merchant Marines), Korean War and VietNam War Theater of Operations (Thailand) in the U.S. Air Force. Buried with full military honors at Vet Cemetery in Dixon. He retired as an E-9 (highest enlisted rank) after 27 years in the USAF. Then worked at Alameda Naval Air Station for another decade as a civilian contractor. He married my surviving mom when she was also in the Air Force where she served 4 years.

As a "military brat" I spent many childhood and teen years living in Middle East (Turkey), Europe (Azores, Portugal) and East Asia (Philippines). Wonderful early global experience and proud to grow up around so many other military families.

My salute to both of your parents, PurpleHaze...and your entire family.

Besides serving in the US Air Force myself (during the Vietnam War), my brother served, at that time, in the US Marines.

My father and my uncle (both surviving and in their 80s) served in the US Army and the US Navy, respectively, during WWII. Their father (my grandpa) served in the US Cavalry (Army) during WWI (in France).

I currently have 2 nephews (and a niece-in-law) serving in the US Air Force and the US Navy.

Yep, I am very proud of my family's history of serving our nation. And, I went over to ARCO and picked up a $10 ticket for tonight so that I could celebrate the day. :D

I have never served in the U.S. Armed Forces. But I do want to take the opportunity to say "Thanks!" to all the hardworking men and women (past and present) serving our country.

I can have differences with our Commander-In-Chief, but today is a special day to honor those who willingly put themselves on the line and sacrifice for others.

In fact, I just emailed to my father of that very same message. My dad was a U.S. Army Corporal intelligence officer during the Korean Conflict in the early 1950's.

To 6th: Thanks for your service. Have fun at the Kings game. Are they doing some type of recognition for the veterans tonight?

As for me, tonight I will watch "Saving Private Ryan" on DVD, which I do on Veteran's Day.

I come from a long line of veterans: My mom and dad both served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, as did my biological father. My uncles on my mother's side all served in one branch of service or another. My aunt on my biological father's side also served in the Navy, and my grandfather served in the Army during World War II... I understand that my great-grandfather served, as well, possibly in World War I. By comparison, my eleven years in the Navy were quite tame, indeed. :o

I also have several cousins who are serving/have served, including my cousin Monica, who served four years in the Marine Corps, and just lost her father to pancreatic cancer.

Yep! That's a long line alright, Mr. S£im. Thanks for every one of your 11 years. And a salute to your entire family is in order.

My Uncle Frank died last year. Captain, US Army, ETO, WWII. He met his wife there, she was a USO performer. (Its not her in this picture)

Thank you to veterans everywhere for serving our country and protecting the freedoms we hold dear.
