Adelman's way might get the Rockets up to speed

so reggie theus is as good a coach as adalmen or is it adalmen can't coach a good record in his first season?

no its the fact that adelmen does not have the right group of players to run his system. Yao would fit, playing a vlade divac type role, as will battier who will be like peja.

but for the rest even tracy mcgrady, it would be hard to adjust to adelmans offensive system. suppose tracy mcgrady could be more a playmaking OG just like christie was, but the problem with that is that tracy mcgrady is used to taking alot of shots, but given time he should be able to adjust in a new role.

just looking at the offense, it just seems like last year where it is pretty much the tracy and yao show, and rick's teams have never been a two, one or even three man show. his teams have always had to all contribute in some way to be successful. evidence can be seen in his stint with golden state.

the thing with the kings with adelman is that there wasnt really any superstars (witht he exception of webber, who was a very unselfish borderline superstar), is that everyone had a role, and when combined, not only made it very entertaining to watch, but gave the kings alot of wins as well.

what bothers me about the rockets atm is why rick continues to play chuck hayes at the 4 (although he is consistent), when clearly he doesnt fit in the offense. is that the best they have? im not sure to be honest.... how does luis scola play? would he a be a fit in adelmans offense?

the rockets just need...

1. a three point bomber (like kapono or peja)
2. a point guard who can run both an offense a shot decent from outside (dunno who you can sign, suppose you can trade for one)
3. a damn PF who can at least post up and in addition throw nice backdoor passes.

i know its asking for way too much, but suppose it takes time. i just dont know if you have the right trading pieces for a trade, or enough cap space to address the holes in your roster.

simply what im saying is that for rick to be successful with the rockets, theres gotta be an addition of more "rick adelman style" players.

if you were a coach and you were offered to coach a team of players that didn't match the system you used, would you take the job? i wouldn't unless i didn't mind being unsuccessful (at least initially).

clyde drexler did fine playing for adelman. is clyde better than mcgrady?

that's why adelman is paid a lot. he's supposed to teach the players how to contribute to a successful team. i'm not saying he can't do that. he's proven he can. he just doesn't get teams to play that well in his first season

they got a lot of non-stars in houston. i don't think that's the issue.

I just realized the Kings are one game back of the Rockets. Houston fans are crying for a point guard.

It just so happens that we have one for them.....if they can give us something we need.
