A dream come true: visit a Kings game in Sacramento

Looks like this is all working out great for you GOD (was that acronym intentional? :P). Hope you have a fantastic time, and make sure to take lots of pictures. I'm a fellow European (two of my best friends actually studied in Amsterdam recently) and hoping to make the trip for the season opener in the new arena. :)

I understand Douwe's excitement, it's the same for me. After 12 years, tonight I'll be at the Arena to see the Kings! I will also be able to see the next 2 games against Memphis and Phoenix. It's going to be a great night! BTW, i'll do my best to try to help with the indoor crowd noise world record!

You picked an INCREDIBLE time to see a Kings game in person. You will have the time of your life.

I know, it will be great! The last game I saw was in 2001, game 4 against the Lakers. I remember the Arco Thunder, I hope to hear it again tonight!

Tonight is the attempt to break the Guinness Book record for loudest stadium. I wouldn't worry about hearing the Arco Thunder - I'd worry about bringing earplugs.

Thanks man! I will! Photography is one of my hobbies, so pictures will be taken. And well, the GOD acronym wasn't intentional at the time when I created my Xbox gamertag named GouweOuweDouwe(it rhymes!), which is GoodOldDouwe in Dutch. A friend of mine pointed it at though after some time.

No! That game is against the Suns, so you can't wear orange! If you want to show Dutch pride have a custom jersey made up that says "van der Cousins", but don't wear orange to a Suns game!
A little late but the only way he could get away with wearing orange to a Kings-Suns game is if it's a KJ jersey.

Well, there's no turning back now! See you in April!

The day has come! In about ten minutes the Amtrak will arrive in Sac! Can't wait to see the city and the game! Does anybody know a good place to eat near the NorCal Hostel (925 H Str)?

What exactly are you looking for? There's a Cafe Bernardo on 10th and K that has a little bit of something for everyone, and is pretty casual.

He's having fun with Twitter... :)

Hehe well, the two ladies beside me were too busy talking about hair and shoes, so I turned to Twitter instead.

Despite the loss it was a great, GREAT night. Started off by meeting Mr. and Mrs. Sign Lady. Niko asked me to come over before the game and so I did. Both are very sweet and welcomed me to the Kings family. Next up were Grant and Jerry, I know there arent much fans here on KF, but I've grown fond of them over the years. Sat beside them for a while and spoke to Grant, who was less ginger than I expected btw., for a couple of minutes. While I was walking back to my seat, a fan approached me and asked if I was 'him'. He heard Grant talk about me on the radio and came up to me and asked if I was 'that fan from The Netherlands'. Spoke with him for a brief moment, as he welcomed me to Sac. After that I saw Pete signing some stuff near me (my seat was at the bottom of 101, so near the court), and I walked up to him and we started talking. Pete is an awesome guy! He seemed genuinely interested in my story and asked some stuff aswell.

Again, I had a blast despite the loss. The people here in Sacramento have been very, very nice to me. Sac is a beautiful city and I hope to be back here in 2016, if my bank account allows it.

Oh yeah, before I forget, shoutout to Cindy from the Kings Team Store, she was far too kind yesterday. Gave me all this free stuff and made me feel very welcome.

Man, I'm still hyped.
