A book for your child question....

It doesn't surprise you that I hate your list, or it doesn't surprise you that I don't grok the OP? If it's the former, then why, particularly given the praise it's received by others in this thread? And, if it's the latter... what are you trying to say? :mad:
Its the former. As for why, its because our tastes don't appear to align much.
 
Regarding the OP, I can't contribute as I don't grok the question.

My wife and I are fairly voracious readers and our 5-year old guy is starting to read in Kindergarten. I know that as a kid there were certain books that grabbed me. One was "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea". I read just about everything I could by Issac Asimov. But I wanted to know what books you, as a parent, would like your child to read for whatever reason. Whether it is just a good book, or has special meaning to you, or you thought it might be especially helpful in some way.
