I don't have an interest in helping Tryeke right now. I'm looking for ways he can help the Kings. If he had made a couple of his last shots we might have been celebrating a victory today.
Not too familiar with Mayo's style. If he's as ball-dominant as Tyreke, then it wouldn't be a good fit. If he plays well off the ball, then this might be a good move.
Wait until you encounter Mayo's most rabid fans -- there's a hardcore of them insisting he's a young Kobe. That's not hyperbole. Mayo = Kobe as far as they are concerend, just being held back by mean nasty Zachs and Rudys.
Well, up until Tyreke's injury (or mainly during the 20-5-5 chase) it was pretty much Tyreke=LeBron around these boards, being held back by the mean nasty Omris, Dontes and Nocionis stealing his rebounds and not converting each one of his passes to an assist in the box score.
Tyreke when healthy may stil be on that trajectory -- and no I don't recall anyone saying he was going to be as good as LeBron, but that same style player? Sure. Mayo..its a joke to even consider something like that. A short jumpshooter?
LeBron's relative success came because of his exceptional talent and physical gifts, not because of his style of play. His style of play is in many ways what prevented him from making the most out of his talent and going all the way and will probably at least hold him back for a while even in his current situation. So going on that trajectory is not necessarily a good thing for Tyreke.
And yes, a lot of people were saying that Tyreke will be as good as LeBron and "once he gets a jumpshot, it's going to be over for the rest of the league". And yes, some people (including yourself) were accusing his teammates of trying to steal his thunder or generally hurting his stats by not converting each one of his passes to show the world how much of a better PG he is than Jennings and Curry. So no, I don't think that the Mayo homers are necessarily worse than Tyreke homers.

Oh, I still have suspicions about OMri -- there is a petulant streak a mile wide running just under that surfce. And yes, Reke wiht a jumpshot IS over for the league. But thus far this year we have neither Reke nor the jumnpshot realy.
And o, nobody said he would be as good as LeBron, precisely because he is a)smaller, and b) less explosive. But he is a similar atyle player, and whileI know it hurts the ole Euro eyes to watch, those style players win a ton of games in the NBA. Second best type of player you can have, after the dominant center...who we might also have.
I think the bigger comparison was to Wade. Coming into the league Wade's game was very similar to Evans. The major difference between them was Wade's athleticism, but they're games were very similar. Wade was, and still is a bad shooter from beyond the arc, and seldom shoots from there. His primary game was attacking the basket, and has since developed a very good midrange game. Anyway, thats who I compared him to, and I still think he can be a Wade type player. LeBron is an entirely different animal. He's similar to Shaq in that he's a freak of nature. About the only comparison is that he's one of the elite club that went 20/5/5 in his rookie year.
Yes, some people got overzealous about Tyreke because he was the best young Kings player we have seen in forever. The same sort of thing happened in Memphis with Mayo. It isn't exactly news that any time a young player has success early on in their career, especially if said team has been terrible over an extended period of time, the fans get a bit overzealous. It happens in every sport.Yup, and if you go back to last year's Tyreke threads, you will see that a lot of people pegged him as the LeBron of the future because of that stat.
