49ers Preseason vs Bears

Game tonight at 7pm on KOVR Ch. 13

I'm not usually into preseason but I kinda want to see this younger group they have.

Anyone think they play longer than just one series since they are so young and need time to gel?

This is a tough game for the offense to start off against. That Bears D is known as one of the game's best right now.

I have always hated the Bears... Being from Bears country - as a kid entire family loved them and for some reason I rebelled and decided it was Cowboys or bust!

Hmm.. Smith gets a little protection up front and just a few new weapons and look at the difference, he sure didn't look like much of a lost puppy tonight. Good game, I'm looking for consistant mediocraty from the 49ers this year as we build towards the future... and so far I'm cautiously optimistic.

As far as the Bears go, I smell a quarterback contraversy coming on.

I only can count positives in this game.

1: Alex Smith...He looked like a true NFL'er out there tonight...Great game, and keep that up!

2: Antonio Bryant...THE go-to man we haven't had since TO?

3: Frank Gore...Give him the starting job, Nolan.

4: Delanie Walker...6th round pick looked suprisingly good.

5: Sammy Davis...Actually did something without putting himself on IR, which is more than what we had for the man he was traded for, Rashaun Woods.

6: Everything else...Great game!

Don't get to excited about Smith. The jury is out and honestly as a 'Boys fan I hope he does well. You guys have a ton of money / future tied up in him.

Lets see what happens in da regular season. I am pulling for him. Just not sure he has what it takes yet but it's not like I am some pro scout... Fantasy player only!!!

Extra credit to Smith and the 1st string Offense for doing it against the 1st string Bears Defense. The flip side of that is I don't really know how good our Defense is considering Grossman couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. Looks a lot like last year's D - stuffs the run, but no pass rush.

Everyone knows the 49ers are rebuilding so expectations are not high. We are just looking for progress and it looked like we made some from last year. Looking for more now...
