3 team trade w/Atlanta, Utah

This might be really hard to pull off but if all teams agree we may have something here. Utah will have a decision to resign Al Jefferson at the end of next season. Or, they can get value for him in a trade if they don't intend on resigning him. Also Utah does not have a 1st rd. pick. Atlanta is in a situation where they can't resign Josh Smith for whatever reason.

Kings trade #5 pick, Jimmer, Salmons
Kings get Al Horford

Utah trades Al Jefferson
Utah gets #5 pick, Jimmer, Salmons

Atlanta trades Al Horford
Atlanta gets Al Jefferson

With the 5th pick Utah adds another talented young player to go along with Favors, Kanter, Hayward and now the fan favorite Jimmer. They have to swallow Salmons contract but only for another two years. The SF position is open unless they resign Josh Howard, CJ miles and/or Demare Carrol who are all FA's. Utah would have to aqcuire another center through draft, free agenceny or trade.

After next season Atlanta can now resign Josh Smith and Jeff Teague with Horfords contract gone and Al Jeffersons expiring contract. This also allows them to stay competive this upcoming season.

Teague
JJ
Williams
Smith
Jefferson/ZaZa

Why not just stay pat and draft Robinson at 5 if a Horford-type is what you want?

Uh, because Robinson is nothing like Horford.

Not sure how possible this idea is, and if Drummond or Henson impress during their workouts and are available I think I go with one of them. But Robinson is nothing like the above players mentioned.

I'd definitely take Horford next to Cuz over Robinson.

I have mentioend the #5/Robinson for Horford poossibility before. That seems more likely to me if they are tired of trading water than it does that Utah would want to add Robinson with Favors already there waiting to get past Milsap.

This is the deal we should be pursuing. Horford, when heathy, is a beast and would pair perfectly next to Cuz. Why waste time going after Sammy D?

No team would ever trade Al Horford for Al Jefferson, come on!

If MKG is off the board at 5, I might offer them Tyreke and the 5th for Al Horford, Marvin Williams/Josh Smith, and maybe Jeff Teague, but only if we're sure that Al Horford can anchor a defense.
