2023 TRADE DEADLINE MEGATHREAD

Well, all the low key rotation guys I would’ve been happy with are off the table except Collins.

15 minutes.

I didn't think we needed to make any big moves today, but we clearly had holes on our roster we could've fixed with players that were traded today for packages we could've beat. With our tough schedule too a tumble down the standings feels likely.

I think people are overestimating the impact. They also go worse in some.

The Kings worst enemy is themselves since we know this team is one stretch of bad games, or even worse no games from Fox to go from top 3 to potentially play in fodder. Direct rivals just not only got better but the Suns just potentially built a gatekeeper team for the next 2-3 seasons. That parity in the West the Kings fed on is now GONE. At least on paper. Lets hope the chemistry is enough I guess.

Feels really dang bad watching every West team get better. Everyone else is operating on the edges to improve, why aren't we?

If the Pistons landed James Wiseman that means Nerlens Noel is certainly still in play.

I think thats gotta be the last possible move still on the table for the Kings here.

Fingers crossed. Ditching Holmes for a more competent backup has always been my #1 move. Nothing major…. But we have holes and we should tune this team for the stretch run.

Monte probably got fired a couple hours ago, it just hasn’t been reported yet with the trade nonsense.

I might have to leave the forum forever if that happens LOL. Kbo2 would somehow come back from the graveyard to haunt my existence

Not sure, my guess is chemistry. I would have figured Monte would have been all over an attempt to get someone like Bey. Bey has iffy efficiency but he can attack the rim and create offense which would potentially have been a long term solution next to Murray or Barnes.

Nah, they'll trade him to OKC for a through 50 protected 2nd round pick LOL

I can't help but feel like there will be a lot less costly acquisitions in the summer. This deadline has been wild. Especially in a year where I expected more teams to be in clear tanks.

I mean if Monte thinks this team is a 43-46 win team maybe he can't justify spending 3 or 4 second rounders on a rental. He might want to save those for a year where we are closer to contending. Thats good discipline really. Still, a bit of a let down from a fan perspective

Yeah, why do that when the next Justin James is waiting in the wings, haha.
