With our loss last night to the Magic, we were officially eliminated from the playoff race, so it's probably time to start a little Lotto Watch as a distraction from the more important things going on. I'll try to keep this updated more or less daily in the hopes that I can get myself as excited about this draft as I have been about the last two.

Kings record: 15-47
Kings max wins: 35
Highest possible lottery position: 14
Minimum lottery combos: 5
Possible draft range: 1-14
Next team to pass: Utah Jazz (34-31)
Current Competition:
Cleveland Cavaliers (12-52)
Sacramento Kings (15-47)
Minnesota Timberwolves (16-50)
Washington Wizards (16-47)
Toronto Raptors (17-47)
New Jersey Nets (20-43)

I've been rooting for wins every since this relocation thing intensified. I could just see them announcing in 5 weeks that they're relocating to Anaheim and then getting the number one pick. Wouldn't that be the final FU to Sacramento Kings fans from the basketball Gods.

I hope that happens. Also, I personally think the Royals is a lot better name than the Kings.

No. The FUs will continue every day there isn't a team in Sac.

Especially if the team gets good. If they continue to suck it would definitely make it easier to forget about them. But if they win a title down the road that would definitely reopen the wounds.

As a Kings fan I would love to get the #1 pick. A shot at Irving, Sullinger or Jones. That coupled with some impact FA's and the continued growth of Cousins and Evans and we are going to have a pretty solid team next year

I think it's either our turn or Minnesota's to get the number one pick. Cleveland received it in 03, Toronto in I don't care year, NJ in 00 I think. I think it's destiny.

Hope we keep tanking in a competitve way untill the end of the season.. and if Demarcus can bring his A game every night that'll be a +.

Overall tho I wish for us to loose every single game till the end of the season.. I want the best chances I can get at winning the lottery, we need Kyrie.

If by "we" you mean Anaheim, then sure. Personally, I don't want to see Anaheim have a pretty solid team when it's our Sacramento Kings.

Nope, was referring to all Kings fans. Don't worry though, I didn't have you in mind when I said "we". Don't want you to look too much into what I said and think I was insinuating something :D

Un/fortunately, I predict the Kings will win (too) many games from here on out, and will easily beat/lose the record of the Timberwolves, Wizards, and Raptors.

I'm guessing the Kings will end up 5th worst record, and end up with the 5th or 6th pick in the draft, and be left with not much talent to chose from.

They're going to HAVE to find FA's that can hit a shot and make a play consistently when the games are on the line.
EVERY winning team has them, and the Kings do not.

Can we stop bringing this thing every single time?

I mean ok I respect the people in Sac, and man trust me I would love to have the team stay there.. but there are fans and people here who support this team regardless of the city....this is getting annoying that it's been brought up every single time, we're talking about the team here, regardless if it's Sacramento, Anaheim or Paris.. stop taking it off track to the moving thing all the time... I mean Sacramento got this from another City too no? not every fan has to be a Sacramento only fan.

As I posted elsewhere, I think ANAHEIM ROYALS has a rather nice ring to it. Kings name would go due to LA Kings hockey team. Getting #1 pick and the best PG in the draft wold be quite a send off. Business is business and as a retired business owner for 22 years I moved my business from Sacto area to Santa Cruz on the coast to increase business, which we did, and to make a profit, which we were not up in Auburn.

Actually I don't think the 5th or 6th pick in this draft would be a big step down in talent from the 1st or 2nd pick, if everyone that's expected to declare does declare. Irving, Sullinger, Williams, T. Jones, P. Jones, and Barnes are all pretty close in talent. I like some of these guys better than others of course, but I'd be happy with any of them.

All true, but if they put a decent, not good, decent team they would sell out. I regret to see them go, especially to LA... but as you said; business is business.

Anaheim Royals mos def has a sweet ring to it. I could really dig rockin' their gear. As much as I would love to keep the Kings name, I wouldn't be mad at all with Royals that's a awesome name.

Gutsy effort tonight against the Spurs in San Antonio - tie ball game at the 4:20 mark, but then the veteran/home team beat us down the stretch. Timberwolves, Raptors, and Nets all won tonight to put us more securely in the second lotto slot (for now).

Kings record: 15-48
Kings max wins: 34
Highest possible lottery position: 14
Minimum lottery combos: 5
Possible draft range: 1-14
Next team to eliminate us: Utah Jazz (34-32)
Current Competition:
Cleveland Cavaliers (12-52)
Sacramento Kings (15-48)
Minnesota Timberwolves (17-50)
Washington Wizards (16-47)
Toronto Raptors (18-47)
New Jersey Nets (21-43)

Didn't get to see the game tonight, as it was a family member's birthday. Looks like we lost, which isn't a terrible surprise given that Tyreke is still out. Anyway, with our loss the Jazz will officially finish ahead of us and Phoenix and Houston will tie us at worst. Technically since Phoenix and Houston play each other on Monday, one of them will have to finish ahead of us, so our "worst" case scenario is a two-way tie for 11th. This means we've picked up at least two lotto combos, though at one-tenth of one percent each, that's not a whole lot. Not a lot of action inthe teams competing with us for the top slot - only the Wizards played, and they did lose.

Kings record: 15-49
Kings max wins: 33
Highest possible lottery position: t-11
Minimum lottery combos: 7
Possible draft range: 1-14
Next team to eliminate us: Phoenix Suns (33-30), Houston Rockets (33-34)
Current Competition:
Cleveland Cavaliers (12-52)
Sacramento Kings (15-49)
Washington Wizards (16-48)
Minnesota Timberwolves (17-50)
Toronto Raptors (18-47)
New Jersey Nets (21-43)

Irving and Barnes are the only two possible draft prospects that could ever be all-stars, Add in Kanter, and you have the only three possible starters. And Barnes is a real question mark to me still.

Oy.

Ha. I was thinking about that. We'll see but I watched my recording of Barnes and Youtube of Irving and agree especially as to who this team needs and except for these two we don't need PFs and centers. After irving, we can pick according to need and Barnes is better than any SF we have on the team and will grow into that body nicely. Now I know little about the bigs and the mock drafts I see have three or 4 in in the top 6. One mock draft had us using our second pick on a Euro center. Now I have nothing against Euro centers. I like Euro centers.

But ............................................... Oy vey!

If that's what you think, you should be glad we're in 2nd place.

The next 2 weeks could get a little rough, as that's by far the easiest part of our remaining schedule, with 5 out of 8 games being against sub-.500 teams. After that, we have 10 games to finish off the season, and 9 out of 10 are against >.500 teams.

We'll probably get to 18 or so wins very soon, but don't panic, it's just the schedule. The lottery's probably the bigger variable.

I REALLY think Terrence Jones has a Tyreke style manchild body, and his game is more of a NBA style.

I think Irving, Terrence, Barnes, Kanter and Walker in that order.

Is Terrence a PF? And Kanter? Please don't make me look them up. :) Then let me pose this question, if you were drafting for the Kings, would you pick Terrence or Barnes? I personally would punt and let Petrie do it but, this IS a forum for amature GMs, isn't it?
