If anyones into cars, I need your opinion. I'm thinking of getting a 2006 honda civic SI when it comes out in about a month. My friend is really into cars and he said to get it and all my other friends said I should get it too, but I wanna know what some of you guys think about it- that is if you've even heard about it or follow cars-. Thanks for your help.

Its ok. But if you want power, this is not the car. It has only 197 horsepower. If you need a good economy car its pretty good. If you can, look for the new 05 Mustang. They are much more powerful w/ 210 hp and have a five star safety rating.

Uh, the mustang is a piece of s&^&! And its a V6, the civics a V4. The civics a japanese car which is far better than an american car especially a ford. Thanks for ur input, but the mustang is not a good car at all.

Also see the Acura RSX. It is a good car w/ good peformance. You can also get the reliability of a Honda(for those who don't know, Honda makes Acura.)You will spend a little more though.

Again, I see ur intent, but I think ur underestimating our knowledge for cars. Its pretty obvious that honda makes acura, and its pretty obvious that american cars are trash. The rsx is cool, but too many people have it and so does my friend. Plus that and the SI are about the same price, the SI maybe a little more.

Hey if you like the car and can afford it you can't go worng with Honda or Toyota, relialbe, well made cars. Personally I am more a clasic car guy and enjoy wrencing so I don't see the atraction but we all have our own tastes. FYI the v tech engien is not a V configuaration like you see in V-8 or V-6. All 4 cylencers are bored in line as are virtually all 4 cylender engiens (SAAB tred a V-4 our for a short while in the 60's) Only important in that the V configuration results in much higher performance. There are quicker litter cars out there in the copmact market like the evolution set up on the Lnacer but does that really matter to you? Like I said if you like the car and fits your life style go for it!

The new SI's look very nice (new Civic's in general), which is fairly surprising for a Civic. I would say that at that price range, I would take it over any other car.

BTW...RSX the same price as an SI ? Where I live, an RSX is an easy 10 grand more than an SI.

The mustangs junk, a g35 is sick but too expensive(I got the cash, but I'm only 20 and don't wanna dump everything I have on a car), and yes an SI is around 22-25 thousand while an rsx is about the same(well atleast where I live)

I love old school cars too. When I'm older I'm getting one and gonna fix it up clean. Oh, I know about the V style engine, just that I was saying that its a smaller engine than the mustang and still produces juts as much horses. Thanks for your help.

i just got a new subaru wrx sti and i absolutely love it. it gets around 26 mpg and has about 290 hp stock. the thing flies and i've heard subaru's are pretty reliable. just got done with a 94 camry v6xle and put around 250,000 miles on it, so toyotas are definitely reliable. you can find a WRX for about the same price as a new civic, and it will leave that little honda in the dust.

My sister swears by her Subaru's and normaly puts nearly 200K on them before she trades them, only complaint she has is for some reason the factory clutchs seem to go out at 60K. Expensive if you don't have coverage or a little brother who likes to wrench on cars. Then again little brother is prety shure sis rides the clutch ;)

Yeah those suburu sti's are badass sanity. They're pretty expensive though, in the 30's right? And I don't really like the regular wrx's. I'm not really into racing and I know it seems dumb to want an SI, but I like the way it looks especially that it comes with a navigation system and I want a car that gets good mileage and has that speed that I can use whenever I want to. I drive a gmc yukon(2003, fully loaded), but I'm tired of paying 60 dollars per tank especially that I drive alot. And one more thing, I love toyotas, but a celica is another trash car hehe.

i got mine for 26,000. there is nothing much different between the sti and the wrx. only about 50 horsepower and 9,000 dollars less. i'm biased and anti honda now. (had an accord and an integra) toyotas will run to the ground with minimum maintenence, as will hondas. I just think honda's are for girls;)

The sti has too much of an "I'm a racer guy" look to them haha. The SI looks like a normal car with a little racing flare(not too much). The sti's got that AWD though(tough to pass up on that). Haha whatevers, I'll see it when it comes out and decide. Thanks for all the opinions and help.

i took off the huge spoiler on the sti and replaced it with a smaller one from the wrx to get rid of the "racer image". that spoiler was just plain nasty, i know what you mean. i love the awd, feels so much safer when sharp turns or manuevers are needed. anyways, good luck, and don't buy american.

So if you get a SI what color are u lookin' at? I saw a black coupe the other day, and it looks pretty nice.

black nighthawk pearl for sure, but the rallye red looks sick too. id still end up getting black though.
