We fell off the wagon because our fringe star player quit on the team. We barley snuck in when he brought in for a year. We didnt have a chance when he half assed it.Problem is, we can never prove that Doug's not making these calls. So unless we find out otherwise, it's fair to judge Doug on the decisions he's making with his rotations.
Monte only gets let off the hook because of the circumstance of the past year. Only a true pyscho leader would let Monte make a franchise-altering decision like the Fox trade...and then fire him 2 months later because of it. And when you operate under that assumption that he was no longer shot-calling, bringing in DDR, someone who rather fits Vivek's "mantra" of the type of player he likes (as well as a player archetype that Monte avoided his entire tenure here), some things start to click how we're stuck where we are currently at.
