The NBA Champion Thunder have started the season 4-0. Only one of the games was close, the first matchup against Houston, which went to double overtime. The Kings are now 1-2. All their games have been close.

Tonight will be the first of three matchups against the Thunder this season. All will take place by the end of November. Last year, the Kings went 1-2 against Oklahoma.

The Kings remain without Keegan Murray for several weeks. No one seems to know who will replace him in the lineup tonight, although DeMar DeRozan did the honors in the last game. Nique Clifford will be out again tonight. Domantas Sabonis appears to be playing hurt. The Thunder will be without Kenrich Williams, Isaiah Joe, Alex Caruso, Nikola Topic, and Jalen Williams.

In the last game, against the Lakers, the Kings played twelve men, although Isaac Jones played only one minute and Devin Carter played three. The Thunder played last night, beating the Mavericks on the road, 101-94.

Go Kings, play hard!

Too slow again!

I get why Coach DC is playing 11-12 guys - especially with Westbrook joining without a training camp - so he likely wants to see what he has and what works, but I think we need to quickly shorten the rotation and reduce some minutes for guys like DeRozan. Nique missing time is the most overlooked aspect of all this because I think we'd have at least one more win with him in the lineup. That's how much better we've been with that rookie on the floor.

Holmgren has been incredible so I guess they get somewhat of a break there, even though this OKC team has weapons all over the place. Our three point shooting defense is going to have to be especially top notch because all of their roleplayers can slaughter you with 5-6 threes in a single quarter.

Outside of last season it always seemed like the Kings had a decent chance of winning in OKC. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see it go back to the upswing because why not.

I keep thinking that Mr. Perry should have made trade for Kris Murray, rather than waiting and waiting for Jonathan Kuminga, when the Warriors clearly did not want to deal. At least OKC will be without two starters tonight, including their power forward, Chet Holmgren.

We most likely lose by double digits. Even with 2 starters out they are a deep deep talented team and get ready to see if SGA can beat Reeves’ 22 FTA’s

I really want to see how Devin does against SGA. Won't happen since DC has no confidence in him, but that story interests me more than the game or the outcome.

The Kings currently rank 25th in assist percentage. For a team that wants to pass the ball, move it to the open man, that is unacceptable. I hope to see better ball movement tonight, with crisp passing. Part of that is Sabonis' changed role, and partly it is too much isolation play. I keep yelling (at the screen) "Pass the ball!" when someone is dribbling around aimlessly.

Inspired me to have a quick look at NBA.com. We are third in isolation frequency and second last in potential assists. I have only seen snippets outside of the Phoenix opener and thought we looked a bit better then vs the end of last year. Guess I was wrong.

Dennis Schröder | Guard | Sacramento Kings | NBA.com
Russell Westbrook | Guard | Sacramento ...

We got our PGs, though. Amirite?

Interesting. Just saying but Carter as a backup PG last season was 3rd highest in assist percentage on the team at one point.

It seems impossible that we're here, 2 seasons after taking the defending champs to 7 games. My god

If you had told me then that the Kings would be trotting out a starting lineup of Westbrook, Schroder, LaVine, DeRozan, and Sabonis in two years' time, I would have said it was a lazy Kangz parody, and that it stretches credulity to believe that this owner, even at his very worst, could possibly see the wisdom in a roster comprised of those pieces. Yet here we are... 💩💩💩

I am very much not in Christie's corner, but I'm going to give him the barest amount of grace here, given that his only passable wings in Keegan and Nique are currently injured. But that is a truly odious starting configuration, and even with the grace I'm extending, I do believe Christie should be embarrassed by this lineup card.
