[Game] 03/82 Kings vs Lakers 26 OCT 2025, 6pm Pacific 9pm Eastern

Noticed this too. He had a few "choice" looks towards LaVine and DDR tonight. He's getting put on the back-burner and not getting any reward for running the floor, setting screens, never gets the ball back in the DHO. He's an after-thought on this team right now.

We're gonna lose one of the best players this franchise has ever had when this thing blows up. Maybe not at the deadline, but probably this off-season. Freaking sucks.

Is what it is and it's too late to build around him if this doesn't work. This is what happens when a franchise rides the middle line for so long and then push off a rebuild further after while trying to fill the holes left behind once the franchise player was traded. LaVine is every bit on Fox's level talent wise but what was this team with Fox to begin with? This absolutely feels so similar to the 2008-2009 season it's just a total buzzkill. Not sure the Kings end up with a pick that high though. This is actually a pretty deep team offensively.

Domas has had the look of someone just waiting out their time since the Fox trade. His face has told it all.
He's a competitor. A guy who wants to play for more than just the money and deep down he knows this is leading nowhere

We go 3 G league guys playing and 2 more that really should be getting DNP’s. Although cardwell is good at a few things. There is better talent out there as free agents

THIS is your takeaway from this game???

Do you work in Sac media by chance?
Nope. Lots of takeaways for this game but too lazy to type out more. Been a long day. But, since you asked…In short, Our team, is too small and we will pay for it all season long. Some boneheaded defensive plays by the Kings, and the free throw disparity did us in. Plus no answer for Austin Reeves.

And what does that really do? Who is more likely to be on this team in 2 years at this point? If Christie is relying on FA minimum signings to fix the holes then this team will already be well on it's way to playoff seeding by month 2. We'll see. Because if they aren't? Patching holes in the Titanic won't matter.

Sorta?

We're surviving with incredibly hot shooting these first 3 games. Monk/LaVine in particular and we probably won't see a 4-6 3PM from Russ again this season. LaVine is also at 30 PPG at 65% TS, which is probably not sustainable either.

Once the shotmaking regresses back to the mean, this current version of "Ignore Domas" is going to fall off a cliff.

Idk. This has all the makings of falling of the rails incredibly fast. We could not have had an easier 3 game start to the season and we're 1-2, escaping with a last second Offensive rebound to the Jazz for that only win. Christie has no idea what his rotation is and continues to throw lineups at the wall, hoping something sticks.

I disagree. This Kings team has shown more consistent defense than I've seen in decades. Doug is going with the lineups that reflect the culture being built, even at the expense of the matchup and scoring. It looks to me like he and Scott know we're a mid team at best, so heart/toughness/culture are the better priority investments. I don't see a lot of randomness here, just a different mindset.

If heart/toughness/culture were what mattered we'd be seeing Devin Carter on the court for 40 minutes and Zach LaVine for 3.

Best outcome for the Kings long term. Only feel bad for the people who spent $100+ a seat to watch that thing.

Having lost that game, I’m not sure where the Kings get their next win.

They will sneak one in here and there, with a hot shooting night. There is no offense to this team, other than pass the ball around the 3 point line for a look, or wait for Lavine to go one on one

We'll see. This next draft looks like a winner so that'd be nice but it could be a dogfight in the middle of the lottery.

Nothing specific, but one thing I love about Mo is her willingness to gripe about the team the same way we do, rather than taking the diplomatic route.... it feels like she amplifies the fan voice from her platform.
Gotcha. Yeah, that is what I used to love about watching/listening to her...She was honest and straight to the point. It is safe to say that she's one of the few I genuinely miss listening to/watching when it comes to the Kings (along with the G-Man).

Maybe it’s the offense but Domas has not looked like himself dating back to when he came back from that hamstring injury last year. He has no lift and can’t bully ball his way to points like he has in the past. Some of it might be because has been going against huge centers so far in his two games.

Zach is currently our best player, don't know how anyone can watch this season so far and say he has no heart. He's averaging over 30 ppg and dropped 32 tonight while playing sick.

Because he's one of the laziest defenders I've ever seen on a basketball court and it drives me crazy watching his malingering. I swear that he's only thinking about offense even when the other team has the ball. Next game, watch what LaVine does on defense the whole time and see if I'm telling the truth or not.

EDIT: I didn't know he was playing sick. I didn't use the word 'malingering' to imply that he's faking an illness, what I meant is that he's only pretending to play defense while waiting for his opportunity to cherry pick some easy points. He was our leading scorer in this game but I think he did more to help the Lakers win this game than any other Kings player.
