The solution to this is simple... let's trade for Rubio. Ship Kevin Martin to the TWolves and get Rubio in return... similar to what the Sonics did when they sent Ray Allen to the Celtics and ended up with Kevin Durant and Jeff Green in the same draft.

I agree w/Cruz. No one is going to give us anything of value for Bibby or Artest (Haslem, Gooden? Don't we have enough PF's?) and no one wants KT's contract. GP can't do anything - but he's the one who either proposed these contracts or agreed to take them on.

I fear Mikki Moore could be as good as it gets. I just don't think Petrie has enough attractive pieces to make a significant deal.

I think that's the real issue here. The writing appears to be on the wall - the Kings are not a playoff contender. I could easily seem them buying out a contract or two (Brad, we need to talk. How would you like to be able to go hunting every day?) to save a few bucks on a lost season (or two).

I can see why Petrie would do that deal... However, there's absolutely no reason for KT to turn his back on that kind of money to become a free agent when his production and reputation have sunk so low.

So unless the Kings can convince KT to walk away from the $23m+ that he's owed for pennies on the dollar - this doesn't really help us at all.

How does this affect a team's cap? In other words, if the Kings bought out KT, SAR or anyone else, how would it affect their current cap situation. Does anyone know the rules and effects?
