    Expectations of Kings' defense, 2021-22

They need to stop the switching defensive scheme with Fox. He is not interested in boxing out big guys or rebounding in traffic.

    Expectations of Kings' defense, 2021-22

That is a great offensive lineup though. 404 minutes last season which is the 9th most used lineup in the entire league. +7.6 net rating. It can't defend anyone but it can outscore anyone. I would not start with that still. It is just a horrible defensive rebounding team. I expect Fox...

    A bunch of centers

Teams can be contenders with or without dominant big men. They just need quality rotation bigs. Teams like Clippers, Nets, Blazers and Suns are built around 2 or more dominant guards/wings. Teams like Hawks and Mavs have one dominant guard/wing. Teams that have dominant big men like 76ers...

Kings acquire Tristan Thompson for Delon Wright

He started most of the games when he played. He had a stretch of some missing games because of health and safety protocol. His time was split 70% C and 30% PF.

    Kings Roster next season

There is a only couple of PF that averaged more than 10 rebounds a game. And those guys play heavy minutes. It is very tough for Bagley, or anyone really, to average 10 without playing heavy minutes or at the center position.

    Kings Roster next season

Just one team that has lots of cap space, penchant for overpaying, and need of a starting center. The Hornets.

    Bagley’s worth now

They had beaten the Thunders by more than 50 points a few days earlier. And they beat the Hawks yesterday. They were not imploding. They got frustrated by the Kings.

    Letting Holmes walk.

I agree with a lot of this. One thing to consider is that Hield and Bagley are two of the team's best rebounders. Another is that Fox and Hield are excellent together in transition. Something would have to give.

    Letting Holmes walk.

That Fox, Hield, Barnes, Bagley and Holmes lineup is actually ok defensively and excellent offensively. The issue was the lack of quality rotation players or the lack of the right mix of players defensively. Fox likes to gamble so he needs a center with length and mobility to cover for him...

[Game] Kings @ Spurs, 3/31/2021, 5:30 pm PST, 8:30pm EST

Well they tried to contain Poeltl on the defensive boards so that left shooters open for 3s. We just didn't have the personnel to deal with Poeltl. Either Bagley or Whiteside would have helped.

    [Game] Kings @ Spurs, 3/29/21 5:30pm PST, 8:30pm EST

The improvement on defense is not because of Bagley's absence . Here is the comparison of the starting lineup before and after Bagley's injury. The defensive rating is very similar. The defensive problem with this team was not Bagley or even Buddy. The major problem was the lack of long...

State of the Kings Pre-trade Deadline Edition

I just listened to the Ringer podcast this morning. They think Barnes' contract is good value. They think the Kings have the all the leverage with Barnes, so just wait. I agree that we need more, much more talents. This upcoming offseason is likely the last season that we are under cap...

    Marvin Bagley breaks hand again

This talk about Bagley being net negative is highly overblown. He has been quite decent lately. Here is the 5 man lineup stats with some filters. I filter out to only the 3 most-used lineups. Also filter since Feb-9 which is right after the 7-1 stretch. I always feel that stretch was fluky...

    Trade Bagley?

because He is getting better so you would think his trade value would keep getting higher. I don't want him traded by the way but if you want to him traded, maybe the 2021 offseason is better. Even though he is a third year player, he does not have many minutes. And most of his minutes was...
