Why hasn't our perimeter defense improved one bit this season?

Yep. And it has to be one of the easiest things to exploit. Setting a pick then using it something almost any player/team can pull off no matter who their players are. It's hard enough to stop with players who are built to defend it, if it's your biggest weakness you are going to have a bad time.

Why hasn't our perimeter defense improved one bit this season?

Awe, with any luck we can help educate a few misguided minds during our discussions. Although having to point out why size is important is a bit silly. It is a decent enough way for me to waste time while sitting in front of a computer. I soon will probably tire of this discussion too, though.

Why hasn't our perimeter defense improved one bit this season?

Which is the bigger problem in my eyes, and something i think he can fix. Clogging the passing lane and being in position to put a hand up after losing his man should be possible for him. Whether he is starting or the 6th man it is still important. As a starter the issues of his size is normally...

That's what I'm worried about. I love watching him play, even if it's against us.

Why hasn't our perimeter defense improved one bit this season?

Agreed. The extra length makes a huge difference. How often does a player block a shot with the tips of their fingers? Very often. How often does a player get a steal by barely poking the ball away before grabbing it? All of the time. There are so many plays that get decided by mere inches every...

Anyone know the status of lebron? He was questionable for the game vs the Pacers but played.

point guard, point forward, and point center

I too think he is fine with his straight line ball handling, which the fast break/transition push normally is. He is so fast that if he gets a long rebound it is only 4 or 5 dribbles for him to get to the other side of the court and pass it or dunk it.

It fits with all the analytics stuff going on now, too. Don't give up a layup, don't give up a three.

If you watch the second video he posted and start around 4:30 it looks pretty familiar. Cousins contains, IT can't recover. Cousins has to stay on the guy and that's when the kick out happens.

Has Malone ever talked about our strategy for defending against picks? I want to say the plan isn't to trap players as we never seem to see it... If it is then we are turrible at doing it.

I think none of them know what the other one is doing. IT gets picked off on really weak screens and Cousins sags back too far letting the man get in too deep. Cousins normally seems to plan on switching but IT is the opposite. Havoc everywhere.

All of these pictures are from tonights game, during about a 3 minute span where Horford gets 4 open shots after Teague gets passed IT, then kicks it out. IT has to switch over to Horford after Cousins moves to cut of the line to the rim. Chasing him from behind/the side when Teague is ahead...

I just re-watched it too. There were 5 plays in a 5 minute stretch where Teague gets past IT with no effort and Cousins is forced to show. The first time it happened Cousins popped up too soon and Horford just went straight to the rim and got an easy two. That was really the only time he...

Can there be three sides? I think we could have survived both if our guards could defense a chair. Not even a rolling chair, one of those stationary ones that can't even spin.

I was having flashbacks to games when Tyreke would get frozen out of the offense. Williams was just a body out there for most of the night.

His first few minutes were terrible. The second stint was not as bad, but still far from good. He has looked so lost lately, doesn't have a clue what he is doing out there.

[Game] Kings @ Bobcats, 12/17/13 4 PM PST

We really need to get some defense out of guards. They got 7 points from Zeller, 10 from Jefferson, and 5 from McRoberts for a total of 22 on 25 shots. Perfectly accepted for the Kings. Even IT's poor shooting night could be overlooked, if the guys play some better defense we win this one...
