not quite how it works. if the Kings max out Cousins for his second contract, the starting salary would be about 13.6M and, over a span of five years (assuming he receives the franchise tag) averages out to roughly 15.7M.

No one has brought up the buyout option.

If Vivek amnesties Salmons, then buys out Outlaw, that clears up 10.5M in cap room right there.

We're at 40.7M without Reke. However that 40.7 includes Salmons and Outlaw, doesn't include, IT/Douglas/JJ. Do what I said above and our room goes from about 17M this summer to roughly 28M in cap room.

If the Kings truly had a choice between Tyreke and Iguodala, I'd opt for Iggy. He's exactly the type of player the Kings need. Not only is he a very good all-around player, he just happens to play the position that is the teams biggest weakness.

IMO, the only advantage Tyreke has on Iggy is youth. Iggy is 5 1/2 years older and his age over the next 3-4 years could definitely be a concern. But Andre is a highly experienced and proven player while Tyreke is still highly inconsistent and has yet to show that he's ever going to the next step of development toward what most of us believe is his true potential.

Both are going to command far more $$$ than they are worth. That being the case, I'd go with the most sure thing and the player that fills a GAPING weakness at the 3. Without Tyreke, the Kings are still "ok" at the 2.

The most important factor why I'd prefer Iggy is that he is more of a team player that will usually make the right basketball play. He has a fairly high basketball IQ, which is something I've questioned about Tyreke the past several years.

I don't think Iguodala solves our SF problem because he's not even 6'7 in shoes. He's an SG imo.

Never too impress with Iggy, to me he is a glorify John Salmon. Undersize SF, above average D, can score some, handle some but never really impact the game - personal opinion. If we're to offer Iggy 15+/- 4yr I rather take a flyer on PP + Tmac and find a young guy to learn from them.

I don't think it matters, in the end, he won't come here unless we're offering the most money. No matter who our GM is.
