Isaiah added to the Rising Stars game

IT and Ricky Rubio were added by Kenny Smith as wild cards right before Shaq/Chuck started the draft.

so i know alot of people will be happy since so many were whining about him being snubbed

and Isaiah got put on the crappy team (Team Chuck) but its actually a lot better for him, because if he was on Shaqs team he would be playing behind Kyrie Irving and Lillard

I got nothing against IT but him and Rubio (played 21 games only) making it over Jimmy Butler/Ivan Johnson is a disgrace

Ivan Johnson? Do you mean someone else?
While his stats might not look that impressive, hes one of the key players in the Hawks team, his toughness/energy/defense off the bench this season have had a far greater impact than what Thomas has had on the Kings. I don't know how they didn't pick Jimmy Butler tho and Rubio has for the most part played like complete crap the guy can't make wide open lay ups.

Jimmy Butler has been impressive the last month but being shocked they didn't pick Ivan who plays 13 minutes a game is a little much. As you mentioned he is a nice energy guy but let's not act like he deserves to be anywhere near any type of "all star" game. And I don't even like Thomas.

I suspect Isaiah Thomas will be entertaining to watch and everyone likes an underdog. The all-star game quit being about actual all-stars a long, long time ago.

Actually, I feel that way about the All-Star game. It's a popularity contest.

I know you're kidding but there's no way he starts. Chuck didn't even pick him - IT was assigned to his team (2 of last 4 available picks were randomly assigned to each team)

I am.

Quite honestly i've never been an "all star" fan anyway, i rarely even watch the full all star game. It's just nonsense IMO.

I'm a little bummed Jimmer didn't get a 3pt invite. Wasn't expecting it, but he should be there over a couple of those guys.
Considering this year's format I'll have to say no. Jimmer's only made about 40 3-pointers the entire season, and this year's East VS West format has Ryan Anderson, Matt Bonner and Steph Curry. Who would you take off of that lineup to make room for Jimmer?

I can't agree with the All-Star negativity: I love it. I watch everything that gets put on TV, the whole weekend. To borrow from Jason Whitlock and Michael Wilbon, I really do treat it like Black Thanksgiving.

Speaking of All-Star Weekend, what became of that Team Kobe vs. Team LeBron thing they advertised all of last year? Is that still happening?

Seems to be more Team Wade vs Team Paul.

I know this thread is about congratulating IT on his "selection", but since UK_King sarcastically brought up IT taking shots away from guys, here's a little stat from Jason Jones.

Jason Jones ‏@mr_jasonjones
Kings leaders in FGA on 6-game road trip: Thomas (80), Evans (78), Cousins (61). That's a reason Cousins would say he's sacrificed his game

Lol @ IT for taking 80 shots. I wonder what his shooting percentage was during that time.

His FGA are certainly inflated due to a number of blowouts as well where he ended up playing many garbage minutes while Reke and Cousins sat on the bench. But even then, don't think anyone would ever expect him to lead us in FGA over a 6-game period.

But enough of that, go IT, represent the Kings and have a blast in Houston!
