Hey guys,

New to the board just found it glad to be apart of it. Die hard Kings fan and it hurts me to watch this team. Idk what Geoff Petrie has been doing, and I honestly think our roster is complete garbage. Tyreke, Demarcus, and Thomas Robinson are our future and stars. Isiah Thomas is a solid and tough PG for sure no doubt about it. Jason Thompson very good role player in my opinion to come off the bench, James Johnson as well. We drafted Fredette for what reason?? He barely gets to show his stuff. Honeycutt can be a good SF off the bench as well. Everyone else on the roster I have no clue why they are there! I have hated Marcus Thornton since his arrival. Takes away minutes from Tyreke and he is nothing special. Then we have bums like Travis Outlaw, John Salmons is a role player ok whatever, Aaron Brooks was a dumb signing. Am I the only one who feels we have a lot of players just bunched up at the guard positions for no reason??! Like what is going on. And Keith Smart just doesnt know what hes doing. This is not a prototypical contending roster by any means, we are not even close. Thoughts anyone? I mean I hate it. I hate the state we are in with this team. Geoff Petrie has done wonders in the past but our roster is so bunched up with trash that its mind blowing why we even picked up another in Aaron Brooks. Wasted a 1st rounder on Jimmer, etc.

While our roster isn't the most balanced, its also isn't as bad as a lot of people say. Basically our frontline is Cousins as a primary score and a bunch of roleplayers. JT and T Rob will get most of their points off of hustle, offensive rbds, or fastbreaks. That will leave a lot of the scoring for our backcourt. with IT, Evans, Thornton, Brooks and Jimmer thats a lot of firepower we can bring from the backcourt. IT and Evans are solid defenders as well

Welcome to Kingsfans.

"When the moon is in the second house, and Jupiter aligns with Mars" we might, and I mean might, have a chance to make the playoffs this year. This was something that for the last 5 years my heart told me was possible but my head just chuckled. This year my head is finally beginning to believe it could happen. For me this would be a huge accomplishment so I guess I'm not quite at pessimistic as you regarding our roster.

Im lost. first you said our roster is complete garbage then went on to say we have 3 stars and 3 or 4 solid role players. so is it garbage or is it not.

You're not alone. Add to all that the arena/ownership situation and it's not much fun being a Kings fan right now. All I can say is try to look at the positive. Like you said, we have some very promising young players who are fun to watch. I haven't liked most of what Keith Smart has done as head coach either, and Geoff Petrie's idea of building a roster around Tyreke and Demarcus has been puzzling to say the least, but as a basketball fan there will be plenty of good basketball played this season. There's a whole crop of new rookies to watch this year. The roster situation is going to resolve itself one way or another so the less time you spend worrying about it the better. That's what I try to do anyway.

I also thought the Oakland A's were going to be terrible this year and they ended up having one of the most entertaining seasons I can remember, winning the division, and playing an exciting playoff series so you never know. :)

If you think this roster Is bad you should have been here before it was improved. Read on, it might make you feel better or at least not alone.

Well, welcome to the board. And I'm actually looking forward to this season. I feel a little more hope this year.

The only real bummer for me, as a Kings fan, is the arena situation. :(

Our roster is slowly coming along.

We could use a bit more frontcourt depth. We need to move one of Reke or MT since they cant play together and they are both too good for the bench (although if MT can embrace that role we'd be in great shape), and we need to shed some of the dead weight at SF. But all in all I think we're more balanced than last season.

I maintain that about 50% of all basketball fans are Lakers fans. Its the popular thing to do. An IP address from mars wouldnt cancel out the possibility of someone being a laker troll. That being said, WELCOME. I actually like our roster. In my opinion its the coach thats going to hold the team back. NATE MCMILLAN READ THIS!
