Deon Waiters is the guy, per Grant, unless somebody trades up before Kings to get him, or Cleveland takes him. They will select Waiters over MKG. Unless there is a huge deal there.

I find it hard to believe that the team would let Grant in on their thinking and allow him to go on the air and spill the beans. So there are essentially two things that come to mind.

(1) Grant is simply giving his opinion which doesn't mean anything. He MIGHT have a sense of who they don't really like so it could be a relatively educated guess but still not really meaningful.

or (less likely)

(2) The Kings know Waiter's name is hot at the moment and Grant was told to say he's the pick to continue to up trade interest.

We'll see. Personally I'm not in favor of Waiters.

There's nothing wrong with drafting another Tyreke Evans. It just doesn't make sense when you already have the real thing, plus 3 other guards that you have invested in. Not to mention a logjam of overpaid wings.

I hope so. Grant is usually closely aligned with what the org is trying to do. He's usually a hype man/ rips guys about to move.

Lots of calls going on between Houston & Sacto & Cleveland. Waiters could go to Cleveland at #4. Grant didn't say what would happen then.

Disagree... Tyreke/Waiters on the same team is the whole intrigue imo. Too much for defenses to deal with offensively and excellent defensive duo who can each guard the one or two.
