I have my doubts that after seeing this thread the meeting will ever happen. It was not a good idea to talk about it here if you wanted to have the meeting. I'm sure the Maloofs don't want to enter a firing squad.

I suspect Gavin has someone read this forum (why would he waste his valuable time and read for himself?) and thought better of meeting the ire of the fans face to face. Finally he is in a place where his charm and money cannot buy his way out of hearing the anger. He can't play the role of an ostrich and will have to pull his head out of the sand. Besides, they pulled the curtain aside and revealed their real attitudes already. The man behind the curtain is evil.

As much as I hate to deflate anyone's bubble, I seriously doubt if Gavin is going to change a marketing strategy because of something written on this or any other fan board. Face it. We all talk tough but when it actually comes time to meet face-to-face with someone with whom you have a problem, most of us have good manners way too well ingrained into our beings to come right out and say what we wanted to say.

Yes, we are fans...but that doesn't mean anyone in the organization, including the players, coaches, owners, etc. should pay much attention to our daily rantings. Doing so can actually be harmful to one's mental stability. I know for a fact that most players do their best to NEVER look at message boards, and I'm pretty sure the same holds true for most others.

Whether or not Gavin is an idiot is immaterial. The fact he has personally reached out to season ticket holders pretty much proves he knows that there's more to be gained by talking to them personally than to lurking at a fan board.
