Brad Miller Retires

#1

Brad was always one of my favorite kings. especially that first year. Sad to see a class act realize the end is here. Wish him well in his post basketball life.

Good question. Can't really pay your respects as easily as it's harder to find over here.
Harder to find? It's the first thread in the forum.

And, furthermore, that is the precise point of the redirect: so that people will know where the thread is.

why was this moved?, he was a great king and deserves a proper sendoff.
Let's put it this way: Peja Stojakovic is pretty much the demarcation point for ex-Kings at this stage. When he retired, the thread was posted in the NBA forum. Why? Because, 1) by the time he retired, he was on his fourth post-Kings team, and 2) It had been over four seasons since he'd been a player of any significance. Brad Miller is certainly not more important to the history of the Sacramento Kings than Peja Stojakovic, therefore, the thread belongs in the NBA forum.

Thanks for everything, B52! One of my favorite things to watch was him battling Yao year after year. I watched them go head to head at ARCO so many times.

Enjoy your free time bug guy!

I liked Brad, partially because he came from rural Indiana, as did my dad. He was asked to do the impossible - to fill Vlade's shoes so to speak. He was emotional, he could drive you nuts with his bitter beer face, and yet you knew he was playing from the heart. I love the fact that he finished his career with Rick Adelman.

Hard to imagine he will retire anywhere, but Indiana.

I'm so glad he had some great years here with us in Sacramento. I'm also glad he got to go out playing for Adelman.

I wish you all the best in retirement, Brad. :D

I love the fact that he plans on doing a hunting reality TV show in retirement. makes me wonder how long it will take for Kaman to hang them up and join him.

I believe his wife is from here. Plus there is lots of hunting here too.

Another member of that big Sacramento team retired. Like all the other guys on that team, I liked him a lot. He will be missed.

Also, my favorite moment with Brad is when we were playing against Lakers. I think that was in 2005/2006 season. We had just Peja, Mike and him from the old crew. Brad scored a 3 pointer at the buzzer and we won later in the overtime.
