He said the Kings were talking with a FA and it was not a PG..

I saw today that Hamilton, and Vince Carter were dropped by their teams.. Do you guys think we would offer a contact to either of those two players? Grant said it was a player to get excited about..

Not sure I would be excited for those two though...

Wont be Rip, and Vince is probably signing with Dallas. My money is on AK47 baby! That's who I wanted when last season ended, free agent wise, I think he would be a great fit!*crossing fingers*

Last I heard AK47 was still under contract in Russia and was hurt till January.
He signed a 3 year deal with CSKA Moscow but he does have an NBA opt-out clause if he wishes to return. He is out of the team at the moment because of fractured eye socket I think but he is progressing better than initially thought. I think he already started training with the team but they can afford to be conservative with him as they haven't lost a game yet in any competition.

Right, so the Kings cannot be in negotiations with him until he opts out and is granted his release from FIBA.

I think he can negotiate and test the waters and then he can make the decision if we wants to remain in Russia or come back to the NBA.

He did say recently that he is not sure what he will do. He will test the waters but he is very happy with CSKA.

Lets not forget that he has a very nice contract with CSKA. In Europe you contracts are after tax as the team pays the tax for you. On top of that, players of Kirilenko's calibre would also get a few other perks to go along with it, like the team providing him with an apartment and a car that he will not need to pay a dime for.

CSKA is doing that for Krstic and I am certain they would be doing the same of Kirilenko. With this in mind, the offer from the NBA would have to be something pretty significant for Andrei to consider it.
