I don't see how any of those moves makes the team worse. Furthermore, it's way to premature to rate the off season moves at this point. Or we could have thrown the 8 mil per year at ak47 instead. You know, a guy who defends, shoots the 3, is younger, taller, longer and knows his role. But hey, how could Petrie pass up the opportunity to move down the draft and ship out our most consistent scorer and only true floor leader?

3) ball pounding blackhole on the court who has always confused hsi place on the totem poll.If you could somehow get through to him, or maybe easier just drill a hole in his head and turn his brains inot a frappe, he's got the skills to fit if he jsut backed off and concentrated on defense, spot shooting, and occasionally bringing the ball up and facilitating. In short we need to get Doug back here sans the wacky wife to whisper in his ear, and whisper some more. And if he whispers long enough...ah who am I kidding. Its John Salmons. The king of passive aggressive behavior.

This is the thing that gets me like a punch in the gut - Why in Hell do you want to bring that to a young leaderless team? Aren't those the exact opposite qualities that you want to bring to this team? Does this team need a veteran that models selfishness like it's a virtue? People can have disagreements about Kemba's ability, but there is no argument when it comes to his leadership ability, just as there is no argument when it comes to Salmons being the cynical "I'm going to get mine" type of player. We went from hoping to get a Kemba or a Parker - the epitome of winner - to bottom of the barrel on the so-called intangibles.

AK 47 made 17 million last season and you think you're gonna sign him for 8 million?

It's beyond hopeful to think salmons will change his mentality at age 32. He is what he is. Some here think he'll take a backseat offensively, yet still contribute. Really. He has a track record of moping around, and simply playing like he doesn't care, when he's not a 1st or 2nd option, going all the way back to his days in Philly.

What this team really needs is more ball movement. We just got less, from our soon to be starting sf. We needs a sf who can play, and is willing to play off Reke/Cousins. Salmons can't play off anyone, and never has. He needs the ball, and has to go one on one. He's not a leader. Not when he was here, not in Philly, and not in Milw. He provided none of the intangables to the Bucks that I hear he's going to bring here. Not holding my breath.

Of course I hope it ends up working out, because I'm a fan of the team. But I do not think it's likely.

Yeah I don't seem to see this big home run they hit in their "upgrade" in the starting SF position. And neither does anyone outside of the Kings front office. Pretty much getting ripped universally and rightly so. Made big moves with their pick and moveable veteran and all they got was a 32 year old who has documented issues with his role on offense? I just thought it was a rush move when they had so much time to work other ideas in free agency or trades.

Its nto really a preclusive move however. By swapping Beno in the deal they kept their capspace similar, so apart form now having somewhat different needs they really aren't in much worse position than they were a week ago vis a vis moves over the summer.

I'm really confused with your question. Do you think AK will get anywhere near 17 million?Are you somehow implying that new salary is in any way tied to previous salary?

"I made 17 million last year, give me 17 million this year."

Here's a little fact for you... Peja made 15 million last year. What do you think hell get this year? Shaq made 20 million before he went to the Cs. They paid him 1 million last year. I can go on and on.

Salmons is a decent defensive player and that's what we needed at the SF position. I think we should worry more about what he can contribute there then his offense. Because he is a ball hog doesn't mean he isn't a significant upgrade to the defense. Maybe we are missing the point of the trade.

Well not exactly. Now they have a guy that can be our starting SF. Last week they did not. Now they can say that they do not have to spend the money to upgrade the SF position due to this trade. I have never bashed the Maloof's, but this to me just seems to be a move made so that they do not have to spend money in FA. I mean really, who are they going to spend money on other than Thornton and Daley? Most positions are 2 deep now.
