Congratulations Dallas and Peja!

Well, I have to be happy for Peja tonight...he got a ring. He didn't seem to contribute much in the Finals, but throughout Dallas' run he was a solid contributor. It's good to see one of the old timers succeed. I was rooting for Bibby to get his ring, but I have such a distaste for Lebron after last Summer's fiasco that I'm happy that Dallas won. Plus, we are kinda kindred spirits.

So...CONGRATULATIONS PEJA!!!!!

Well, I'll congratulate the Mavericks; **** Stojakovic, though.

Kidd is my second-favorite player (besides Wallace, of course), and Marion grew up close to where I did, so I'm glad for them. Wish Tough Juice could have played.

Congratulations to Dirk, Kidd & the Mavs for their first ever Championship. This was a hell of a NBA Finals to watch. I expect the Heat to be right back here next year unfortunately but good for Dirk. Peja didn't even play so I can't say he deserved it. I do however wish Caron would of played. No more NBA for a while now :(.

Peja did deserve it though, like the OP said, he contributed very well throughout the other series. Congrats Mavs and of course Peja!

Excellent for the Mavs - for Dirk and Terry and Kidd. and I'm so happy that Lebron and Bosh did not win. I was nice to see how Cuban handled things too... pretty cool the way he deflected attention to the ballplayers and coach.

Peja? Well when it comes to running up the score he is very helpful to have around. That didn't come up too often in the Heat series though...

So glad Jkidd is now a champ and Dirk answered his critics and secured his place with the greats of the game. Great to see Peja get his ring

One of the most satisfying NBA Playoffs in a long while. Congrats to Dirk, Jet and Peja (even if he wasn't a big part of the Finals, he gave me great joy with his daggers against the Lakers).

Very interesting finals this year and deserving winner. I always wonder what it'd be like to one day buy one of those $80 championship packages with the hat, shirt, towel, and dvd!

If the Kings ever win it, I'm going to buy one of those for every day of the week. And a subscription to Sports Illustrated.

Look, I know its easy and quite popular to bag on Peja, but he had his role in the Laker series. He played well, and not just in garbage time. He had no place in the Finals, Carlisle realized it VERY early on and Peja made his way to the end of the bench and waved the towel. He was a good pickup for the Mavs when Butler went out for the season and actually played decent for them toward the end of the regular season. If you think he doesn't "earn" the ring because he barely played in the Finals, so be it.

I've never been a Mavs fan, and really hated them back in the day. However, they scored pts with me by trouncing the Lakers in the manner that they did and then scored a few more by denying the Heat. Good for them. Good for the NBA. Lets hope a labor deal gets worked out so we can have another season of NBA, but more importantly, SACRAMENTO KINGS basketball.

I've hated Stojakovic since 2002, and nothing has happened in the intervening decade to change my mind. I wouldn't even care if he had done something in the Finals: AFAIC, he doesn't deserve it because of 2002-2006.

What exactly in 2002-2006? Personally, though I was rooting for Peja, I don't think either he or Bibby deserved it more than the other.

But Peja was one of the few All-Stars to come through the Kings. Not to mention winning the three point contest, and having quite a few amazing games. And our free-throw consecutive made record.

So what about him makes you hate him so much? That's a very strong term.

Why? The whole team blew it in game 7. Peja just happened to have the misfortune of being the one who missed the last shot that could have won the game.

I find it interesting that someone can love Jason Kidd and hate Peja, but to each his own.

Its sadly all about the Heat anyways. That team needed to lose, and they lost. Couldnt of asked for a better result.

Peja must have pulled a Rashard Lewis/ Delonte West

Predrag's a good guy and I'm happy he finally got a ring to now enjoy in likely retirement. I have not heard a single Mavs player mention tonight the fact he was another vet team mate like Jason Kidd, Jett Terry and Ridirkulous who had been so long in waiting. Stojakovic vanished so totally in the finals that the Custodian had to replace him. On a side note, I think Mike Bibby will probably hang around (but maybe not in Miami) for another NBA go - but he too is way over the hill and slower than ever at 33.

peja held the fort for us when webber went down and wasn't available for the majority of that season. we had a great record then. i don't see why hate the guy..

the fact that he also was injury prone. the guy deserves this ring. he torched the lakers coming off the bench. that mavs team deserved this..

This isn't even a 100% mavs team that defeated the heat. they were missing haywood and butler. happy for them. it was also a classy move of cuban to include the founder of the mavericks hoisting the trophy

can't expect peja to play heavy mins in a finals game... he is a shell of his formerself... man that back really ruined him. :( it was always fun to watch him move with out the ball and somewhere lose his defender and launch that three. oh don't get me started on his pump fake jabstep shot that was always money.

overall its a great cap to the season. stern must be dying inside saying congratulations to cuban LOL
