Well, what a difference a night makes. We go from being slapped around by the Lakers like a rag doll to giving the Mavs on hell of a fight and nearly getting a much needed victory until Carl Landry decided to impose his incredible suckiness upon the rest of the team.

To say that Landry is struggling is an understement. As of right now, he cannot rebound, score, play good defense, pass (but he could never do that in the first place), or hold onto the ball. And yet, he still winds up playing over half of the game night in and night out. What does this indicate?

Is Landry a bad player? I don't think so. His play last year both with the Rockets and us seems to prove otherwise. When he's on, Landry can hit the face up jumper and is a tough match-up inside with his speed and quickness.

Then, is Landry a bad fit for this team?

UNDER CONSTRUCTION (May not be able to finish this thread, it's final's week, but I'll try.)

The KingsFans SoCal group will be there in reduced force, 14 for this game vs. 28 for the Clips game in February. Look for us in lower level corner nearest the Kings bench wearing our Sacramento Kings T-shirts in rows 13, 14 and 15. We also get to do a "High Five" tunnel for the Kings when they come out onto the floor the first time.

Personally, I'm looking forward a bit more to the game after their resurgence vs. the Mavs. Mostly to see if it is a "turning the corner" for the season or merely a one game aberration. Should be a turn the corner game. But lets see.

I hope Demarcus starts. Our offense runs a lot better with him in there. though we do give up some on defense, I can't watch anymore ugly offense. its hurts my eyes.

Let's just hope that this isn't a repeat of that Thanksgiving day game. I don't mind a loss here, but let it be a competitive game atleast. We might take sole possession of the worst record in the league after this one!

Hopefully Westphal gives Landry plenty of minutes, he's our best bet against Blake Griffin at PF.

3rd game in 4 nghts. I hope the Kings are well rested! But no, they're probably going to party in LA all night.

The Clippers had a real tough loss tonight up in Portland. At one point they were down by 23 or 24 points. Portland let them back in the game and the game turned out to be close. They also had two players ejected and Kaman got hurt and left the game. I think the Kings have a real good shot at winning tomorrow night if they have that energy they had against the Mavs. If Blake can 'somewhat' be contained and not do too much beasting the Kings might pull this one off. Go Kings!!

I should be going to the game with a buddy of mine. If anyone from the CruzDude group sees me, I'll be the loud one with my Reke jersey on depending on how many beers I drink.

I think the plan right now is to contain Blake with a big dose of Carl Landry, so I think we're good.

We should try putting Pooh on Blake. Hopefully his quickness and veteran savvy will stop him! If all else fails, Carl Landry will save us.

One thing overshadowed by the Dallas loss (and the Landry factor) is that we actually got to see what the Westphal offense looks like - when the players care to run it. It looked very nice to me. It was enjoyable seeing players move without the ball and passing instead of overdribbling. Everybody seemed willing to simply do their job for the good of the team. And we saw some guys making shots, like finding water in the Sahara. I don't think that it was just a coincidence that the shots were dropping when the players were cutting, setting screens, and passing the ball. (Ok, maybe a little coincidence in that Tyreke looked amazingly like last year's Tyreke).

It's all about the mental approach with this team. Why exactly did they come out in the Dallas game ready to play the right way? Heck if I know. Maybe the pain of losing was greater than the pain of surrendering their ego to the good of the team? In any case, I hope that the lesson was learned and that we won't have to revisit the egotistical side of the Kings anytime soon.

Come on guys, enough is enough. You're better than this and its about time you started standing up on your won two legs. You play the game you played against Dallas, and you win this one. Its that simple. Not even Westphal will be able to take ti away from you. So just go out and ****ing do it. Its getting old. And I'm running out of themes.

haha.. If that's the case they should be informed and play very inspired ball. I like this starting lineup - lets hope they play to their fullest abilities and then exceed it because I know they are capable of it!

So KF's officially wants to win this game?
Because this would be a great opportunity for a lin, if tanking the season is a realistic option yet.

I'm not saying it is.... YET... but I have been thinking about it, since there have already been WAY too many losses that have piled up and during the easiest part of their schedule....

And Brick has my sympathies having to work harder with so many losses.

I think if the kings keep losing, your theme for the postgame thread could be leaders who excelled in a replacement situation. Or maybe a theme of possible replacements for Paul Westfall. I just don't see this team underachieving much longer without someone having to pay for it. I don't think Westphall has done a terrible job, although I have questioned his substitution patterns before. If the players are truly trying a's hard a's they can and the problem is lack of talent then so be it. But If there is enough talent to win games and it isn't being used correctly, then the coach is the fall guy for that. Sure hope they win tonight.

Isn't it too early for lin's yet? I think there is some unwritten creed that states "No LINS before the Allstar Break". Or maybe I just made that up. Either way, I'd like to see if this group can get it together and start playing some team ball. They looked pretty good against Dallas in spurts. If they could just put together a full 48 minutes (overtime if necessary) and win a few games, they might go on a run. This team needs the wins to boost their confidence, but unfortunatly they need a boost of confidence to get the wins. What an evil conundrum! Well, anyway, GO KINGS!

I vote for "overthrown dictators". But, you can never have enough "pretty girls." Considering bowl season is upon us, how about "pretty girls of the NCAA?"

Either way, adding more youth to the roster via LIN isn't the answer. We have one stashed away in the NDBL.
