Figured I would start one of these since we do every year and it looks like the Kings draft is over being that we got two amazing pieces to the puzzle. Hate to admit this, but nice job Petrie.

People were talking about Whiteside with the #5 pick for a while.. Maybe this years DeAndre Jordan? If he gets a chance to show his stuff he might be a good shot blocking big off the bench like a Jordan, or a Keon Clark.

It's an A although it was more about good luck than anything else. Now we have three good centers for next year and a year from now we can choose the best two of them going forward. That's exciting.

Amazing draft. Cousins AND Whiteside!!!! Love the future of our bigs.

As an aside, is there still room for Brockman on this team with Dalembert, Cousins, Whiteside, Landry, and Thompson?

LOL yah I mentioned that either earlier today or yesterday.. I think most Kings fans are in agreement that this draft just totally blew us all away.

Makes for a bunch of happy Kings fans, but a boring summer with nothing to argue with anyone about.. At least until we see who Petrie uses the cap space on.. I believe it will either be guard, or a small forward.. Someone who could shoot 3s and someone we don't expect but is a decent pro none the less.

A. Just A.

Could not have gone any better from our perspective.

And now we are approaching loaded at every position for the future. Maybe SG might need a little something one day, but Cisco and Beno can both be effective there. We got our size, our post players, our star, young atheltic SFs.

A.

Well Gary looks like we have nothign to get in trouble with arguing about this year :D

I think this draft narrows down what we do with our cap space and what positions we look at...

It leaves SG... someone who can shoot and won't be a defensive liability as their primary capabilities.

Morrow is looking attractive

I can not Believe this draft!

This draft was incredible! How did this happen? The Kings went from having No center to having 3 of them! I am amazed by the ability of Petrie. He orchestrated this whole thing! Well, and he was also incredibly lucky! But without skill, luck is wasted. And Petrie did just what he needed to do. He gratefully accepted the GIFTS that the other GM's bestowed upon him! What a GREAT FRIGGIN DRAFT! :D

Gotta say A+ !!!

I really wanted to give them an A. But they did exactly what I would have done.......so what do I know.........maybe I am a genius:p If there was a B+ I would have picked it. Those bigs have to develop so we wont be able to give it a real grade now......except to think it was really great!

We were lucky! It was obvious we will take Cousins if he is available...
Same story with Whiteside..

Now lets hope the players will click together!
LETS GO KINGS!!

A+

Some might say that since we got Cousins, we should've used the 2nd rounder for a SG.

But 7 footers are ALWAYS a rare find, especially one with such athleticism. You can always find a decent SG later.

We got the guy that we all hoped would somehow slip to 5 and then a guy that many early on advocated picking with the 5 when we missed the guy we got at 5. Are you kidding me?

I'm beyond stoked right now.

Umm, what's the letter before A? That's how I grade this draft. The letter before A.
That's me too. I still couldn't believe that through the draft process Cousins would somehow be available at 5. No matter what happened at 33, we got a rock solid great A+, the second we grabbed him.

Getting Whiteside at 33 is nuts. Its flabbergasting. He's completely raw...but jeeeezz he is so big, so athletic and he really produced at the college level. There just aren't that many human beings like him. If someone had taken him 10-15 I would have thought they took a really nice risk.

I think I am even more excited because I can sense how excited the front office is too. They are as in much disbelief and frenzy as the rest of us.

Wasn't it only a couple months ago that the two major draft sites had him rated the #1 prospect for 2011? Sure that was overblown, but at #33?!?

Easy A. I don't know how you can really expect them to do better. Whiteside may not end up being the best player out of the 2nd round when it's all said and done, but at the moment of that pick, it's hard to argue against him being the most talented there.
